Hello BHW members!
I would like to hear about your experiences about enabling AMP version on your wordpress blog/news website.
Did you notice some increase in website performance, number of pages per session, bounce rate, rankings, etc..?
I would like to hear both good and bad experiences(if any).
2 months ago I created my blog. Blog is not in English, it is in my local language.
My loading speed was decent but I wanted to increase it more so I found out about Google's AMP. I researched online about effects of implementing AMP, found few case studies but there are lot of different opinions about AMP and its usage. Some people have good experience with it, some have bad.
My traffic is 90% from mobile and tablet so I decided to implement it.
I installed free version of AMP for WP plugin (better rating then official AMP plugin)
Spent almost whole last night setting it up correctly and I think it is finished now.
Design is decent, since u r pretty much limited about it so there is no much u can do with free version (maybe I would have more options about design if I have more skills in coding)
Everything looks fine, I asked 5 friends about user experience on AMP version of website and they all say they like it, I personally like it too, but I guess all of that is not of a big value since they are my friends and since it is my blog
My blog is not monetized yet so I cant compare ads performance.
But I plan to monetize it in future so I would like to hear your opinions about effects of AMP on ads performance too.
It would be great to hear your opinions about AMP so I can disable it right now if there r some bad aspects of it.
As I said, there are lot of case studies online but I believe more to BHW community than Google about this kind of questions.
I would make case study about AMP from my own blog if I can, but my blog is very young and I dont have much data to compare.
Let's talk
P.S. I used search on BHW but I didn't find recent discussions about it.
