Hey Danny thanks for this thread as I've been following it since the beginning and it's been very encouraging. Had a quick question that I hope you can help me with. Yesterday I had an item ship and the advertising rate was 0%. I have sold similar products in the past but never had a 0% show up. Have you ever experienced such a thing?
when you buy or a friend or family buys from your link - you don't get a commission unless they haven't caught on yet -- so it can happen
I'm not the person to really sell one product -- I need to find several and a bunch of accessories and duplicate for 30 sites to make a profit -- there are much better incentive traffic drivers who would be better suited at that.

well one niche I do - there was one guy who gave up marketing his website and simply marketed his page on Amazon where his product was sold - and it ranks on page 1 now and his website is gone ... so I know it can be done.
personally I would use Press Releases and set up some review sites that link to the Amazon Page (web 2.0 basic sites/squidoo lense) and even a couple of Wp Blogs ... then some Facebook PPC targeting your buyers .... then I would look for someone with a FB Group or page -- or even create my own and build it up then drop my link ....... if your not getting Sales after that then you know it's not going to sell.

Good Morning : today I wanted to speak about costs.
If you have read this thread then you will know that when I started my first Amazon Site I had no tools / nothing other than Hostgator Shared Hosting and money to buy domains. Now obviously my operation is significantly larger as my goals have grown bigger.
Initial : $10 a month Hostgator - 10 .com domains $80 -- free template from BHW Download Section.
All Seo was done by hand - bookmarking / google alerts / web 2.0 stuff ....... articles/reviews I either bought for $5-$10 or I wrote them myself
So in summary - you probably need $150 to start this method until you get paid from Amazon which takes a few months on the first payment. (assuming you are going to make 10 Sites - which will make you $200-$600 a month) ... always use one site as a test site and when that works then just update or change the others .. or experiment with 1 - figure that out then make 9 more.
More Advanced Amazon : Dedicated Server Managed $250-$350 Domains $600 .... I use Magento on some sites so if you just use WP then a VPS for cheaper would be fine... $50-$100.... (assuming in total your going to have roughly 50 Sites)
Tools : Ultimate Demon $350 - AMR $50 - Sbox $60 - CSniper $77 - HMA $80 - Tool VPS $40 - UBot $200 - CMS Commander $23.90
Content : Up to you but Natasha Nixon does $6 for 500 words - or buy some Amazon Packs for $5-$10 from WF or write yourself.
Social Tools : Twitter Money Bot $30 PinPioneer $44 AMF bot $25 YLH bot $25 -- Botstagram prob wouldn't buy it now.
If you don't want to mess with doing seo yourself then buy some link type services from Linkpushing - BTB / BigBuddy and some other providers in BHW BST Area.
The more advanced set-up targets $1500+ depending how well it's done and how much effort you put in tweaking everything.
Also lastly tools can be substituted / gotten cheaper or more expensive --- same with Domains ... and you don't need everything all at once --> expand as you make money.

I started an amazon site last week and made my first sell this weekend. I was really pumped but I was looking at the percentages of unique videos to people that click the links to purchases made. My site just started I am only getting 80-95 unique visitors a day. How many visitors are you currently getting if you did an average of all of your sites? Also about how many visitors does it take to start making decent money from a site?
I've been getting some really dumb PM's today

1. Can you pick a Niche / Product and tell me what to do
2. I don't understand how to choose a product and figure out the best keywords to choose.
basically I cannot do everything for you -- you got to try it yourself - figure out what works and what doesn't and quit
giving in so easily --- this is easily why 95% of people will fail with Amazon or just give up completely.
I've invested thousands of dollars and months of my time to arrive at where I am today and I have provided short cuts
for just about every problem you may encounter --- but still -- You Have To Take Action To Make Money -- that's the bottom line.
As far as traffic goes - sites go up and down and some sites sell more consistently which have lower priced items and others make large commissions per sale.
Despite that I think 100 Unique USA Visitors 20 Clicks 10% conversion rate is what you got to aim for --- which over 10 Sites is 20 Sales a day
If you look at some stats I posted on my sales you will see my average sale puts me at $5-$8 -- I'm sure most people starting out would be around $1 however .... till you fine tune your Sales Sites and Product/Niche Selection.

It reminds me of Content Locking the Superbowl a few years ago -- all my doubts said why would anyone come to my site to watch the Superbowl when there are so many other places to watch it ??
Well I put my doubts aside made a site - put up a content locker and made $190 in about an hour ... it works because there are so many Web Surfers who click just about anything because they don't know any better.
Same here with Amazon in a different way -- stop doubting that it will work -- take some action and make it work.

Danny i noticed a few posts back you said you were doing Squidoo lenses, how they working out for you. Been building a few myself last week or so, they seem to rank more easiliy than reviews on my sites.
No sales from them yet but they are ranking well.

Squidoo - I have 5 Lenses which basically match up with one site each - have links and a link back to my site.
initially they ranked Page 1 and got some traffic but now 4 have reverted to works in progress and only 1 is online.
I assume this is because they didn't get traffic for a few days .... so squidoo seems pit of a pain in the ass at this point.
No Sales For Me Either.

Bit of a bummer, think i read that if you add a 200-300-charactor module they should go live again.
