Amazon - Hitting Hard & Fast...

I've got a niche site that I haven't done anything with yet. (I've been working the eBook side of amazon lately). If anyone wants to team up, the website has about 6200 products all in the same niche. We can put xoskillets method to the test and see how well we bank. Send me a PM if your game

keep me in the loop on how well you do... this will be exciting!

I wouldnt feel comfortable with your core request - but i will explain it out in a bit more detail here for you...

Okay, go find a really trending topic on youtube.... lets just say today that it is lebron james.

now snag a couple of partial clips from other peoples vids who are high on the search results and seem to be getting a lot of traffic.

next, go ahead and put your video together.

now edit the video by including images of (an ipad for example) along with wording saying somerhing like "be cool like lebron - check out what kind of ipad he has!).

now, at the end of the vid, extend it out 20-30 seconds with a plain screen that tells the viewer to click the link in your description to see the exact ipad lebron has.

... and that my friend is how you get people to click through to your offers.

thank you! :) i understand now. may i ask what programs you use to edit videos? and also, (this may be a dumb question) do you put your aff link directly in the description using a bitly shortener or whatever? or do you link to a blog or some other wordpress site and then have the aff link in there?

Hey, I noticed something big here: Congrats OP has promoted to Junior VIP xoskillet Cheerssssssssssss!

Here I am something to update after hit the road with my new amazon adventure, setting up my new site right now with super ON PAGE SEO optimized and stuff. Here is seriously I'm dealing with since amazon has large categories, so which one you guys recommend to take a wing on.

For example I have recommended going for those top 100s from : electronics, health and beauty, home and garden, baby, sport, entertainment dvd's, music, video games

Should I pick one main category and products with always >$150 or just stuff them all and make it everything available. Which way you guy will recommend?

I should also note that out of all sales so far, only 2 were for actual products i was promoting.... the rest is for other shit i never mentioned and never promoted in any way.

I find the same thing! I was so surprised how many people order those instant $3 movie downloads.

I use camtasia for my videos - i link to my site and redirect from there.

As you read through this full thread you'll see that I started off focusing on specific products, but as the events unfolded I realized that it doesn't matter what product or what price... It simply does not matter.

Most sales come from products you never promoted.

And since most sales come from products you never promoted, then it doesn't matter what you promote... a 99cent item, or a $5,000 item... doesnt matter at all... people are going to buy other things anyway.

I am beginning to think that a lot of the people who write books on how to make money on amazon never actually sold anything on amazon so they are just presenting their opinion of hypothetical theories as fact.

A perfect example would be how they all tell you to focus on items in the $100 and up range.... Great theory since you would make more commission per sale, but it's only a theory they presented as fact, and in fact had no factual foundation (wanted to see how many times i could say fact in a single sentence!).

My testing has proven (not theory - proof) that you do not need to focus on any price point.

Of course, my testing was under a specific set of circumstances, so maybe they are right.... but i doubt it.

So my advice is to not take price into consideration at all... The best and most profitable course of action is to do whatever it takes to get them to click the link.... because once they click your link, it doesnt matter what they buy, you are going to get paid.

As a matter of fact one doing choosing products to promote, they got a better chance for getting higher commission with high products prices, talking from my own experiences/my earning report, those got my attention were:

$159.95 4.00% 1 $159.95 $6.40
$109.00 4.00% 1 $109.00 $4.36

But there are highly percentage of people purchase something like:

$1.89 4.23% 1 $1.89 $0.08
$9.99 6.01% 1 $9.99 $0.60
$15.99 6.00% 1 $15.99 $0.96
$40.00 4.00% 1 $40.00 $1.60

Look at the earning the the BOLD, lot of them not even earn you a $5 commission. So OP you're right about people will purchase everything or randomly, but chance like you can make just one sale of Plasma LCD TV $2,500 in a month, that earn you $150 once. But like I said those things may get more competitive and sales will not happened quite often like "everyday" products/women beauty and stuff.

There must be way to reduce the "noise" from thousands of them and stay focus.

Been using Amazon affiliate scheme for the passed 2 years. Definitely not as good as before ever since they changed their cookie policy but it's still a damn good earner!

Just want to clarify, do you auto redirect people to amazon once they are on your site or they have to click a product link to go to Amazon?

Thanks,
Mike

Redirect.

Exactly 100 orders out of ~2900 clicks here in my little three day Amazon campaign (non-Youtube), but still getting the same funny thing as you! (Majority of products ordered not related to targeted product) I really had no idea how many people buy those instant videos...

Anyway your thread has inspired to try out Youtube marketing, I'll do some research tomorrow and try to get some videos up throughout the week and report back with my results :)

nice thread OP, I have been toying with an idea regarding amazon affiliate sites.

This has given me a bit of inspiration to get the job done, cheers :)

I have been making some changes to my site....

Since i have posted this thread, several experienced amazon marketers have contacted me telling me that amazon will ban your account at the last minute (right before payday) if they can consider any of your site or actions to be against their tos ... so go read their tos and make sure your site is in full compliance.

Wow man, you have a MUCH better click to purchase ratio than I do!... You are doing something very right... you might want to just expand on that for a while too.

Are you guys using the astore code from amazon on your sites? Im wondering because ive seen some sites link you directly to amazon once you click a product. whereas the astore links do not take you directly to amazon untill checkout.

I thought this was BHW. . . They get banned because they don't know how to hide their traffic. Hide your sources. . and you'll be golden.

1. Amazon doesn't examine your account unless it crosses a threshold of monthly income. . or you have massive numbers (e.g 30k traffic in a day)

2. There are many methods to cover your traffic with clicks to hide em. Look up Virus1's method on cleaning traffic. Its seems right up your ally

what would amazon think if you used a referer dot us before your aff link?

Would this work? Just thinking of some new to try. :)

Redirect.

great post OP.

But I don't understand something about how you drive traffic.

the scheme is : youtube -> website with redirect script -> amazon

why you need website with content if you redirect all your traffic to amazon?

your redirect script blank referrer ?
