Hey guys I'm curious if anyone has had success using Amazon EC2 (elastic compute cloud) to run their seo software?

Correct me if I'm wrong but the advantages would be:
  1. Remotely controlling a windows desktop that has presumably fiber optic connectivity
  2. Scalable resources of ram and processing power to handle whatever application
  3. A central location to install your SEO software to limit software license usage
  4. Potentially be controlled and shared by a small staff/team

In the course Maps Magic, they talk about using it because at the touch of a button you can change the ip address to another data center in the US - much like using a proxy server.

Any input, feedback, or thoughts on using this (or something similar would be great). Thank you!

Been there done that. It's going to cost you 5x if not 20x more money. Dedicated boxes with the same specs can be bought at much cheaper price from kimsufi/hetzner.

I really appreciate the insight. Both of those resources look to be European. Are the similar US based services that would provide the same savings?
