Amazon authority site!?

Hello guys, since I've failed in my last few projects I decided to focus just on one project. That is to built huge Amazon authority site and I will also put adsense of course. I already bought a nice domain and it will be Review Magazine. Review of all kind of products and news about all kind of products. I will not go after some special niche, I will try to rank for many keywords in tech, nutrition, gaming, sports etc... What do you think about this? Any suggestions are welcome!!! Thanks

Stick with 1 niche at a time. Fill it out with everything about that niche and its sub niches. Only then move onto the next category. Never spread yourself to thin, you will end up not ranking for anything. Also look at that recent post from phpbuilt about authority sites. Some very useful info there about inter linking and anchor text information you may want to use.

It's been my personal experience (with Adsense) that as long as you write quality, unique and useful content in regards to your keyword you will not fail. You may not make a million dollars in 18 months (or you might, depending on how ambitious you are), but as long as you keep adding quality content the clicks will find you. Best of luck.

Well I suppose it depends on what exactly you want to do.

You basically want to make another Amazon review site but with no clear direction. Is it for gaming? Sports? electronics? Getting a lot fo traffic is good but without a clear indication of what you are/what you provide that traffic will just head over to the already established sites.

Personally I think you need to specify a niche and create a review site on that monetizing with amazon, clickbank and adsense. Of course to make decent money it is going to take A LOT of content.
 
Good luck! Amazon sites can be tricky, make sure you have lots of content.
 
I'm interested in doing something like that too but I don't think I'd mix adsense and amazon. Some people might disagree with me but, if you have traffic that will convert into amazon sales, why bother distracting visitors with adsense? I guess you'd be giving them more options if they didn't like the amazon offering, but still I think it's more effective to know what you want the visitor to do so you can push them towards doing it.
 
OP i actually was thinking the same thing a couple days ago but after researching some more one site reviews is better than authority like what michael said.

You could put the ads at the bottom around the footer area, people wont get distracted by them and you'll make money ;) remember more is usually better especially when it comes to money.
 
Thank you guys so much, its very helpful to hear different opinions. Actually it would be more review site than authority, by authority I thought I would like to have wide aspect of keywords, but mostly my site would be based on tech, gaming reviews.. It will be some kind of magazine with bunch of reviews...
 
This has been done too many times ... And people's spam radar will go off immediately.

People will obviously understand that your site reviewing games, appliances, books and ipad covers is not a genuine review site.

I've seen too many 'Review sites' targeting all thinkable Clickbank and Amazon products.

If you plan to pull it off, you need something like About.

Find a niche, LCD-screens for instance, and make an authority site on this. Write reviews for the top sellers on Amazon and expand from there.

Target long-tails with blog posts, monetize these with Adsense, at least the ones that are for information or very general ... Like 'How to calibrate LCD-screen', 'ten tips for buying a LCD screen' ... Link these to your reviews, where you monetize with Clickbank or Amazon.

This will also induce social sharing, and people will link to your posts from forums. Provide value. In this way you will have lasting traffic, even if you get fucked by Google.

This will even work for competitive niches like weight loss or dating. I have a personal weoght loss journey blog (not about ME, but still a personal branding), and by offering value and reviews, people are eating out of your hand.

Yes I think you are best sticking with 1 niche and just a few products. Include lots of content, make sure its the best and most useful review/content in your niche and go for long tail keywords. Don't try to target the highest traffic keywords straight away.
 
Yeah, definitely I will go for longtail keywords and step by step. First I will build one category with long tail keywords for one product with lots of content and then second category for another product etc... One day I hope it will be authority site with many categories and many products, after all that is my goal...

As long as you use good content, your good to go.
 
Others called it "spam". I'll be gentle and call it shady.

This isn't an authority site.

You want it to be? Do the reviews yourself, with videos and pictures of you with the products -> now we can call it legit.
