Amazon Affiliate reductions begin today OMG and it's bad!

Thats awfull. Not even 1 %o_O
Im sure any other affiliate program would work better for you regardless of cr

I have no words for this, from 150$+ down to 10$+ this is complete bullsh!t.

Did anybody else watch the programme on Amazon yesterday (British tv)?

It showed how they mix the prices for their products up and down to appear like they're giving you a good deal, when they aren't.

I liked the idea the programme shared, by using the Amazon barcode scanner against themselves. You go to a high street shop (when it reopens) and scan a product. If you find it cheaper on Amazon try and strike a deal with the shop owner to get it at a cheaper rate than they have it at.

I just decided to request for amazon affiliates. Do you think it is a bad decision?

Get in direct contact with the product manufacturer. If they're interested, you could ask for higher commission rates. This is awful.

With Google coming up with their new program to sell your products free,Amazon will be losing its market soon.
No way. You can list your product for free but it's still only a search engine for products. The sellers will still need to have their own website and fulfillment. And on both parts sellers still compete with Amazon and it's a battle most will lose. Amazon is only able to drop its affiliate commissions because people start their shopping on Amazon anyway. I doubt they really have to fear Google Shopping.

This is awful man.. it is not even minor change.. you lost so much, almost overnight.. good luck to you..

I think a more fair way to look at it is over a period of time, not day to day because it depends on what is being bought, but since we only have one day so far, if I compare it to Apr 1-20, there was a huge drop.

My commission
Apr 1-20 was 4.7% average over 712 shipped items
Apr 21st it was 3.35% for 110 shipped items.

Thanks, like some others commented the earnings fluctuate but my estimates put me at 10-30 dollars per day now. Maybe better but the links are being changed as soon as I find an alternative.

Update today's earnings a little better. Still would have been great to get the old commission rate. But maybe not as drastic as I first thought. It seems I got almost all 3% commision, which is weird because yesterday was all 1%, unless that returned item was very pricey.

People buy a variety of things on Amazon not specific to my niche, so I'm sure the commission rates will jump all over the place either 1 or 3 percent.

Will try swapping out Amazon links for other programs and see how they do. Part of me kinda believes Amazon will still be more profitable, unfortunately they've got us by the balls.

damn man this sucks to see

Yep my Amazon posts will probably fade into obscurity. There's no point in pushing them as hard as the other posts I have with more profitable affiliate offers... but they don't have the vast inventory that Amazon has of course. Swapping links will be difficult.

They don't want small affiliates.
They only want big one's. RIP capitalism.
Jeff Bezos is a robber baron

Yep it puts things in perspective of how these income streams can change fast.
