Hello guys, I am selling an item on Ebay. I received a message from someone asking if I can post it internationally because he is in the army and wants to send his cousin a gift. He said he will pay via Paypal and cover the cost of the delivery. Once he pays me, can he somehow claim his money back? Here is his final message.... . . . I want it posted to Lagos Nigeria through Royal Mail International Signed and I sure the £30 will cover parcel less than 2kg because I posted to same location before. The postal address is verified with PayPal and you will get the postal instruction from PayPal after I pay.

I will pay directly into your PayPal account because I'm having problem with my eBay account as I cannot bid nor use the buy it now option. Get back to me with your PayPal to pay, send it to me here: matt45matt gmail com please correct it

And include your eBay username or item number so that I can identify from whom the message is coming from you. Thanks.

Nigeria is always a scam. If you see the word Nigeria in an email or message it's a scam. They've been pulling this stuff for years. The Paypal payment will fall through after a few days. Stolen credit card, I think.

If his relative was in the British military, they'd have a BFPO postal address, even if on a short term deployment.

Listen people in Nigeria don't buy shit online!! it's a scam

Only had to read the first few words of that. Definitely a scam. Don't just move on though, make sure to report it to eBay.

Scam and against eBay policies.
If you sell on eBay and intentionally circumvent them, you risk suspension.

Usually, if you have to ask if it is a scam... you can assume it is one.

Yes take the money and send an empty box tracking lol the looser will be waiting for the parcel. Just to make sure he is cheating tell him the delivery will cost him 50 instead of 30 if he agrees he def a scam

His cousin is a Nigerian Prince and he will pay you $1 million.

Don't send the package, OP.

The point is, if you ship the parcel to a non verified Address (verified by PayPal) he can charge the money back as you haven`t delivered the good the right way. That are the PayPal rules. So sendung something to his cousin will be a scam doesn't matter if Nigeria or any other country.
