All Sitemaps Not Indexed From Sitemap Index

I have more than 10 sitemaps, and I submitted a sitemap index to google search console, but not all sitemaps were crawled (9 out of 10 weren't indexed).

Am I missing a crucial step?

The syntax to the sitemap index and the sitemaps themselves are fine, Google just isn't crawling the rest of them.

Are they all added on GSC? Or just the main one?

I always fetch all my sitemaps independently, even when there is a sitemapindex.

No, I only have the main one.

Should I add them all?

@KEEN-G I figured - but how long does it take for the rest of the sitemaps to get crawled?

Sitemap submission does not take time
crawling and indexing all the pages may take time. It also depends on the number of URLs
if it's a new site, like 100 URLs in sitemap then it might be around 2–3 days to crawl and index all the URLs
if more less, should be more faster
