Alerts Issue?

So are you saying that your alert box says 7 (for example) but when you click alerts, it only lists one alert?

Yes, almost every single time it doesn't show all alerts. Maybe the only time it does is when all alerts are about new topic in the crypto subforum for which I'm subscribed.



Started using the notifications more actively a month ago and noticed it after a few days. I believe this issue is not from now but who knows.

Also as mentioned throughout the forum if you’re using an AdBlocker functionality will be limited. This is unfortunately one of those functions.

If you don't check the alerts after a certain amount of time (let's just say a week), when you do eventually check your alerts, only the ones less than a week old will be displayed.

The same thing also happens if the content you received an alert for was deleted.

If you receive emails for your alerts, you can see which ones you missed.

I explained this in another thread, but essentially, you won't receive an alert if you didn't check the last alerts for the thread you're subscribed to or if it goes to the thread goes on to a new page. My other explanation went into more detail about this, but I don't want to search for it on my phone.

The alert system let's you know whenever someone quotes your post, likes your post, uploads an attachment to a thread you're watching, or posts in a thread you're watching. However, the system will not alert you when a member creates a post on the next page unless you re-visit the thread (as you've already noticed). You'll still receive alerts whenever a member "likes" one of your posts and I believe this may apply to quotes as well.

Another example of when the alert system won't send you an alert is when multiple members like your post in less than a minute. Rather than send you a bunch of alerts for each member, the system will consolidate the alert into one alert with the name of the first member who liked your post.

Now, you might be wondering, "Why can't the system just keep alerting me whenever someone posts on the next page of the thread?" I'm assuming this is to prevent inundating senior members with large post counts from being bombarded with alerts every time an old thread is bumped.
