I want to work on my SEO ranking from LLMs and LLM search engines. Has anyone had any success with good methods for doing this? I've tried some experimentation but am struggling to find concrete results so far.

For anyone who has found some success with this:
- what methods are working for you to get the LLMs to "pick" your links in the "SERPS"?
- how are you measuring seo success here, what metrics/tools are you using as most stuff i'm familiar with are built for legacy search engines?
- is much of the "real" market using AI search engines and are you finding any differences in traffic from AI and legacy search engines e.g. CTR, CPM, etc?
- has anyone managed to get "raw LLMs" to pick up their sites e.g. getting the actual GPT-4.1 or o4-mini to recommend a link to your site (rather than using ChatGPT Search which connects to the internet)?

I read some stuff about parasite seo and link indexers but so far they haven't been working very well for me with these LLMs. Are they smart enough to realise that?

LLMs seem to lean more on clean site structure, entity association, and high-context mentions across authority domains. Stuff like parasite SEO feels hit or miss. I've seen better pickup when the brand/site gets cited in long-form content across forums, Reddit, and niche blogs.

I'd focus on the sorts of SEO activities you need to perform to have a Google knowledge panel - so work on branding (ideally with a branded domain), relevant schema, sign up for Google Merchant Center. This will help your site to be seen as a proper entity that AI search engines can pick up on.

I'm not really aware of any link indexing services that can help with AI search engines - they're more for forcing Googlebot visits. However ChatGPT does use Bing results to some extent, so you can look at the IndexNow protocol that is used to update Bing of new pages/updates to pages.

Great questions. We've been exploring LLM-driven SEO as well, and it's clear traditional tactics don't fully apply. So far, high-quality, entity-rich content and strong semantic relevance seem to perform best for LLM "mentions." Measuring impact is tricky — we're tracking referral spikes from AI tools, branded query lift, and inclusion in answer snippets. Parasite SEO feels hit-or-miss — LLMs do seem to prefer authority and context over raw backlinks. Still early days, but evolving fast.
