Have you tried this copy claim method on youtube shorts? Will it work on shorts or is it only on longer videos? Also how long does the music has to be for the system to detect the claim on the video?

I know but when you add your music to the clip and claim it with a distributor you can make money?

Yes you can only if the views are normal and not from youtube shorts promotion, there was a time I used to upload shorts videos and they would get a ton of views upto 2 million in a day but I only got paid 100$ or even lower money.

Sorry to also hear they did not approve you. I like your attitude though. It's good to keep your head up and learn from the past and use it
propel you even further into the future.
I'm not sure about cover songs. If I am not mistaken, even if you are singing a copyrighted song, I don't think you'd be allowed to monetize on it. You are certainly allowed to sing cover songs and build a huge following if you are really good, and then use that following later on for perhaps something else like your own music (which is a golden idea if you know how to compose/make your own music).
I don't know exactly how good you are at singing but maybe you could offer your own talent on fiverr or places like that where people will pay you to record/sing a song for them for their video/ad/company/project etc. It could be lucrative if you know how to develop music for clients and using your own voice makes it that much more profitable.
Yes, starting a new brand/channel is a great idea. You can use the stuff you have learned from your past and make an even better channel. One thing I have learned from using youtube and running a channel / making content is that it requires a lot of work and commitment. It's not as easy as it seems. The final production always looks pretty simple and easy to do but when actually making videos, it's a lot of dedication, commitment, work/time, energy, even managing stress and mental/emotional challenges of the ups/downs, the critics, discouraging roadblocks along the way etc.
But I always believe that if you have a real passion and talent for something, you won't feel like you are working at all. It will be something you live for, love to wake up in the morning to, and can't wait to do it. That's a great place to be in life if you ever find that sweet spot! Best to you as well !

So were the views from shorts traffic or normal traffic sources? The money paid was from the distributor?

Thanks for your kind words, too. There's a lot I don't know and am trying to learn myself, but I always do like trying my best to help others. It's a great thing when we can have a community of people who can genuinely share and help one another.
