Affiliate Programs & E-mail Marketing - Doing it!

Hello BHW!

This is my first real post since joining this awesome community. I have learned so much since joining and I thank you all for providing the info that I needed to finally get my feet wet in IM. I have been wanting to do this for so long but have always just second guessed myself. No more! It's time to take action...

I will be using CB and E-mail Marketing for my first foray. I will tell you what I've done so far...

1. Signed up with CB & picked out a product with high gravity to resell.
2. Have a domain and a blog with a good lander page with affiliate links.
3. Used a free e-mail scraper that was kindly given in a post on this forum to accumulate <2000 e-mail addresses. Got the addresses by scraping Google, targeting a specific keyword relevant to the product.
4. Downloaded Atomic Mail Sender Pro and planning to use this to send my offers.
5. Have a burning desire to succeed! My family really needs some extra money right now in this tough economy as my Dad has a rare leukemia.

What I need from you guys is some good pointers on making this succeed. If you have any advice that I'm not directly asking from here on out, please do share anyway!

How should I format the e-mail? HTML or text? Send the lander in the e-mail or just a link to the lander on my blog?
Are 2k e-mail addresses enough? How often should I send? Should I send the same product offer each time or mix it up with other products?
How do I setup a opt-in option, as I don't want to be considered a spammer but offer people legit deals.
What e-mail provider should I use? A free e-mail service? I have an e-mail account with my hosting...use that one?

This has nothing to do with E-mail Marketing, but how should I structure my blog? ie. Do I mix in affiliate offers with legit stuff, ie. good articles? I know that's a vague question.

My mind has gone blank. I'll respond with more questions as they come. Please do reply with any info that you vets feel like bestowing! You have no idea how much it would mean to and help me.

From reading around the forum (i havent done any e-mail marketing) i understood that it adds a lot to your succes to design an unique template for your e-mail so it doesn't look too simple and ugly. Just a point, no past experience to give value to my advice

I don't mean to be rude mate, but if you can't answer these questions yourself then you are going to find it extremely difficult to inbox any emails, let alone make any sales without CB realizing that you have been spamming (You have harvested emails, so they are not expecting your mail at all and you have no prior relationship with them = Spam).

I'm not into email myself, but I know how difficult it can be to maintain a legitimate mail server, let alone spamming and staying under the radar.

If you really need money quick, then I'd recommend this thread to you. It's a very workable and easy to implement method and Reinstecker has done an awesome write up. It's also very scalable.

Thanks shurk, I'm really thinking about giving that a go. Maybe with another niche.
