Affiliate program for domains and hosting

Hey everyone

I have been working as a website designer for the last year and after looking at some of my competitors realised they have a box where you can search and purchase available domain names.

I was just wondering is there any affiliate programs from the major providers such as Godaddy, Fasthosts, 123 reg and so on.

I would really like to be able to create a page for both domains and hosting as I already have highly relevant traffic for these products. I am of course looking myself but would love to hear any suggestions you may have on affiliate programs like this? (If there is any)

Most large registrars have affiliate programs.

But I wouldn't join any of them. The most popular registrars have a long history of not giving two f'ks about webmasters. You get locked out for no reason and that's it.

I know that NameCheap and HostGator have affiliate programs, although I've heard negative things about HostGator's affiliate program and I've never tried NameCheap's program.

Just after I posted this I went looking at the main registrars only put an application into Godaddy but will be taking a look at the rest too. Hmm might have to have a look for these negatives you mention. It would be such a minimal part of my business that I wouldn't be investing much time in promotion, just something I thought I would add under my 'other' tab. You never know potential clients may end up purchasing a domain via my domain page for example.

My time is spent targeting local businesses at the moment just for website design or related services but from the new year I will also be offering local seo packages.

Gotta give everything a go you know. I took the advice on not having all your eggs in one basket a long time ago. Got my hand in a bit of everything at the moment. Affiliate programs, Gig sites, beta testing websites, designing websites and local business (b2b) networking groups.

You can add Dreamhost aff program to the list of sites you don't want to promo

Most of them are so old 2-5 years, I think now a days they are on Real Track. Will not Scam, They Upgrade my Sells commission, I am planing to Feature them & Placed their banner in my new local Tech & Freelance News Portal.

All I made from Namecheap I spent back into their services, I guess they're happy

That happened to me as well. I made a bit of money from them and then I used that money to renew and buy my domain names.

Thanks alot everyone. It is good to know there have been various issues with some hosting/domain affiliate programs. I plan on having a domain and hosting page located within my other menu tab so will be a good trial. Even if I make nothing if gives me another two pages to write some great content on and possibly gain a few rankings for domains and hosting. Of course I know these will be high comp and I will not be specifically targeting them. Always worth a try though. Will do a little keyword research later on today for my content.

Godaddy has affiliate program available in Commission Junction. I use their affiliate program, it is good.

Yes, most of the leading web hosting and domain providers have affiliate programs, you will find a link to their affiliate program on their website. You can also sign up for commission junction account to find good affiliate programs.
