Affiliate headache

Somebody told me that there is a way to put your amazon affiliate links and even other affiliate links to make sure it is good in google's eyes. Please I need advice on how to do this. I can put an affilate link normally but I want to be sure I am doing this all right because i am not making any sale. Thank you.

also What is the best affiliate theme that is SEO friendly.

Make all links no follow.. ideally you'd 301 from a sub-page your not using to your link.
Plenty of themes with good click through rate, just use the search feature on here.
