    Hello fellow black hatters!!

This is my first post so please bare with me...
Anyways, the reason for my post is very simple. I'm starting up an adult webcam business and need to know a couple of things before a startup. I am currently in the marketing field and have plenty experience advertising. My marketing team and I are taking up the task of driving traffic to the website. I also have a great team of developers under my belt who are working on the technical aspects of the cam site. I just have a couple of questions that I need before I get up and running. I'm not really a tech guy but I am great at research and will quickly learn what I need in order to continue. Also, this started with an idea that I had which led me to do more research on this industry. I've read plenty posts saying it's not a good idea to start a webcam site unless you're willing to invest heaps of money, and how saturated the industry is. Luckily, I have a very advanced development team who are willing to create everything from scratch and advertisement won't be an issue for us. My resources are very on point. But the fact is, I'm still a noob~ hence this post. Can anybody who is already in the industry answer any of these questions? Also please tell me anything else that I might need or should know.
The first three questions are the most important.
    1. How many servers are needed to host a webcam site comparable to the major sites in the industry?
    2. What are the average streaming expenses for an adult webcam site?
    3. What are the average monthly expenses on the technology needed to keep the site up and running?
    4. What are the profit margins (for the girls and owners) if possible?
    5. How many girls is a reasonable amount for the startup?
    6. Is it a disadvantage to base my site in the US?
    7. Any references to any adult webcam resources.

Any other advice or things I should know would greatly be appreciated. Thank You!!

P.S I dont know if this is the right place to post this.

First, you are an idiot if you are starting a webcam service and asking these questions.

    1. Go work for mindgeek (2 years you should know these answers)
    2. If you are media streaming girls on iron and not in the cloud your dead before you start.
    3. Research non FLV streaming. FLV is dead HTML 5 is where it is at.

    Amazing.

    Hi,

I noticed you need answers to some questions, here you go.

    7. Any references to any adult webcam resources

1.) You do need at least two servers; Server 1 will host all your contents, and Server 2 will host your media streaming
2.) There is no much expenses involved, if you are using FMS(Flash Media Server) from adobe there is one-time licensing fee, check adobe website for detail. However, if you are using Wowza Media Server, there is a Streaming Licensing fee (cheaper than adobe) Wowza is using java for their media while adobe uses ActionScripts.
If you don't want to pay for licensing, you can install Red5 on your server which runs good as well, this eliminate licensing fee as this is an open source.

3.) Monthly expenses ranging from whatever you are paying for your server, if you want to make good return on your investment (ROI) I suggest that you get one dedicated server, and create another virtual servers inside it to host your media and streaming, this way you are only paying for one server. Cost ranges from $40/monthly to few $100s.

4.) Profit marking for the girls depends; New starter can be getting from 15 - 18% of their tokens (whatever they made) while the Vet can be getting 30% or more, sharing ratio depends solely on your discretion or whoever is managing your website for you.
    5.) More performance, more income.
6.) Many websites are operating from the USA, you will have to keep up with the laws that governs your state where the business is located and server location as well.
7.) References to websites and resources available via google (our friend) or PM me if you need some help.

I have developed many websites including adults for lots of clients, while the adult website still selling well, your income depend on what you are ready to put into it. You need a good plan of action to be able to compete with the bid dogs. However, do not be discouraged by seeing a lots of websites out there.

Start by choosing a better name, and do keyword research for the name that you want to use, alternatively you can buy some old names off the internet to jump start your website.

Let me know if this help
