Adsense journey with an authority website

June update:
Been working on extending articles and doing some A/B testing with the ads.

Search Console:
icZC4kh

Up to 59 articles now at 65 260 words.

Earnings:
Nothing too impressive but increased a bit.
$90 ($35 last month)

Current plan is to keep adding content and try some outreach via Twitter to similar websites.

1. What kind of knowledge panels do u get? (right sidebar, multiple questions etc.)

2. what is ur new/returning visitor ratio? From the first posts u made the ratio is terrible find a way to make ur visitor return and ur earnings will double capturing their emails is one way to go but there are more clever ways to do it.

3. Are ur articles informational or they carry some buying intent? Adsense needs lots of quality traffic to generate some income but there are other forms of monetizing that can bring u 10x $$$

SE and NO markets are pure gold because of the high income of this 2 countries and their impossible languages.

Hey there.

1. So far I've seen multiple featured snippets mostly with UL/OL lists and table-data e.g. pricelists.
2. This is similar to question 3 in that sense that I mostly respond to specific questions e.g. "How do I do X?", "What is the price of X?" etcetera which means that the recurring amount of visitors, right now, are quite low. Plan for that is to open it up more as a community through social media and the website itself.
3. Mostly informational but also a lot of guides (think, "How to invest money") and so forth.

Language isn't that hard, it is very closely related to English and German (Germanic language) but obviously - any new language is hard to learn. But yes, it's gold-mine mainly due to the competition.

Up to 70k words now at 60 articles. I also want to mention to anyone running AdSense, always keep experiments running at all time.

If you don't have enough traffic you'll need more time to evaluate but always keep them on to maximize your income.

Just a quick update on traffic. Gotten some good traction on some of the new articles and currently around 300 clicks / daily.

AdSense experiments are going well but too early to determine the outcome until maybe 50 days has passed but it's showing good results. I've also written a couple of new articles so at 73k words with 62 articles. The latest being an affiliate article for a more competitive keyword but if I succeed it'll could generate a fuckload of income. :)

Looks awesome! How much is the site bringing in per month?

Looking forward to next updates.

I would also like to know what your off-page SEO looked like. I am in the process of ranking an authority website myself. The current plan is to keep adding content and blast them with social signals.

Thanks for the comments. My outreach always differ depending on what I need. I'm part of a bigger Slack group where I help out a lot with other peoples projects so in exchange, sometimes, I get a backlink as a thanks. But other than that it's just simple outreach via Twitter / Email. In the finance segment there's a huge potential for hobby-entusiasts websites showing off their stockexchange.

Other than that I don't do too-much off-page now since my website is seen as a somewhat authority which means most keywords rank within top10-20 the moment I publish them.

Still growing so hard to say exactly but this month so far is around ~$80? so hoping to increase it in the last third of the month.

July Update

It's been a long month with some mishaps and some fortunes.

Website stats
64 articles
74553 words

Traffic (GSC)
Traffic has increased quite a bit. Not 100% compared to the other months but very close. Last week has been averaging 350 clicks / day so if it continues it's a minimum of 10k clicks but reckon it will be a lot higher.

Traffic (Analytics)
Been experimenting a lot on getting the bounce-rate down which I've succeeded with some. It's mostly through internal linking and recommendations in the article(s).

Incomes
I've experimented a bit with affiliates. Found a good affiliate program here in Sweden for one of the larger finance companies, a product I believe in and easy to promote.

AdSense experiments are running strong and should have enough data to select some variants in the next 30 days. (Pro-tip: Always run experiments!)

AdSense - $85 ($60 in June) - Sadly I managed to overwrite my functions.php which means that I lost around $30-40 from AMP Ads not working (Easy to set up btw).
Affiliate - $73 - There's a lot of potential here. Just need to get a better admaterial from the company which shouldn't be too hard.

Total in July: $158

It's increasing steadily. A bit pissed that I managed to lose a lot from lack of AMP Ads but then again - learn from mistakes right? ;)

I've done some linkbuilding. A state financed company contacted me and wanted to use some of our material, with credits due which has been great. I've also used some of my contacts in my Slack channel and gotten a few.

Plan now is just to go full-gear on content creation since the goal is 100k words in August.

Day actually ended with $175 instead of $158.
