Hi Folks,

Got a questions for adsense freaks.

I have my feet wet in adsense (take a look at these two website below) it is only the beginning of the month so not much action yet but you get the idea.

** REMOVED IMAGE **

I am running the ads in the same locations on both sites and the second site has 10 articles where as the first only has 2. I am probably going to get three times more views on the second website but A LOT less earnings and CTR.. Are you seeing such difference in CTR between your websites?

Do people running adsense find that some niches provide a much higher CTR? If so how would you categorize the high CTR niches? e.g. products niches have higher CTR because if people are looking to buy they are more inclined to click on ads?

yh, some niches probably get a higher ctr but damn, 18% O.o that's pretty sick, just try not to get banned :o

I run several niches and some always outperform the others. Could be a really good ad on the first site that attracts lots of clicks too.

Your ctr is really high, though if you are not doing anything shady you shouldn't worry at all

There tends to be a few factors that influence CTR. How targetted the traffic is can be one.

If I were you, I would remove that pic ASAP.

And about difference - that is niche and ads related. In one niche there could be more relevant and better ads than on another.

I best not get banned its legit.

Shame the first site I cant expand as there are no long tail keywords. The second I was planning on making into an authority site as I have about 100 long tail keywords but no I am thinking not... :/

Try playing with ad colors and positioning. Make sure that links on your site are of the same color as ads. And ad description same color as text on your site. If your ads are in the right sidebar, move them to the left

I am running the same on each site so obviously can run high CTR.

I am wary using the same colour links as adsense as I feel they could pull me up on it.

I think you should not worry about high CTR. If everything is legit, things should be ok...

From my experience sites with physical product getting way better CTR as non physical sites.

I was looking around on here about high Adsense CTR since I just noticed that one of my sites has been getting 20% CTR in the past few days consistently. I was a bit surprised at first (but a good one), as my normal CTR's hover around 1 to 5%. Nothing funny here, all search engine traffic, so lets hope I'm good to go!
