Adding Video to Blogs

I want to add video, ideally my own or Youtube, now it seems easy enough to get plug in for this. but what is the best plug in for adding the video to your widgets, all I have tried failed to recognise it unless added as a post.
So what would you guys recommend for adding video to widgets or sidebars on Wordpress blogs?

I'm suprised I thought there would at least one plugin available to add video to your widgets.

Well on Blogspot you are able to add videos, but I'm not sure about wordpress. I'll do some searching; if I find something I'll edit my post.

on wordpress just paste the embed code....

I was sure I had tried that , in the mean time spent a few hours looking and might have found the answer with a plug for free from Cincopa. But thanks anyhow
