A question for the SEO and Niche experts

Hey guys, i found a keyword phrase that looks like a good niche and
i want to ask you if its true.
I cant give out the keywords but i will tell you this:

google monthly searchs: 43,000 [exact]
youtube monthly searchs: 11, [exact]
as less then 1 million results in google when you put the
keywords with the " before and after the words
and does not have a lot of videos on youtube

There is no .com/.info/.net or .org available,
but the rest are available like .us maybe i will use it.
The com. is available on the backorder but i dont know
if its worth the $15 so thats why i am asking you.
So what do you say? is it a good niche? will the .us be
a good option for the domain?

I guess 1.000.000 in quotes is too much of a competition. You should look for anything below 20.000 in quotes.
 
It has something like 200k in quotes, idont remember the right
number right now bit its less then 1M
 
And btw, none of the top 10 results are domains with with the exact keyword phrase.

also do check how many backlinks the first 10 results are having
if its big then it will be a little hard to rank
 
Get the .com domain if possible - its always the best and with 43k EXACT searches.. It's definitely worth it.

Well i use the SEO for FF plugin and its not showing any data for
any site on the first page, i think if they had a good PR and a lot
of backlinks then it would have shown something right?
 
How about mine? 15k exact searches, 253k competition in quotes, page on top 4 has 388 backlinks, the other 3 are either directories, or a branch site of the Hilton, (I am going for a local hotel keyword).

Also I own the domain www.hotel-"city".co.uk

What do you think , how hard will it be to rank for that.

Maybe you worry, you can use long tail or sub keyword just for checking the market.
 
if you worry, you could use adword to test the market. Very effective.

Well there are 4 adwords ads on this keyword phrase, and its really just 2 words phrase,
short and to the point so i think i will buy a domain for it, jsut want to know if the .us
for the domain, i dont really want to spend $15 for the .com but if that is a must then
i will do it, just need your opinion about it.

That's not actually true... There are MANY times that a .org is actually best within certain niches -- depends on competing websites. My point being that you should never underestimate the power of a .org.

$15 for a com? I'm paying $6 to $7. You can do better than $15. Shop around! My experience with other domains like .info, .us, .cc, .biz, .tv etc. is that they take MUCH MORE WORK to get Google to love them like they do .com, .org, and .net.

$15 as a back order, if you know how to get this as a backorder in less then please
tell me.

Pretty sure back order is a waste of time and money.. you'll probably give them that 15 bucks and they'll in turn sit on it for 3 years.

From the overall feel of this thread, I'd say you need to look a little deeper than what you've found--sounds way too competitive.
 
Why is that?
Do you really believe that less then 200k results is a lot?
Its not millions guys, and there is no wiki or news sites in the
first page, just some sites related to he niche.
A few have 3-5 PR and 2 of them have 0 PR, some of them have
200 backlinks, one has 1500 backlinks and is in the third position
and the first one has only 270 backlinks.
I think i can do it, i will go for it, but tell me this, if i buy wit the
backorder will i get the domain right away or do i need to wait for
it? i dont really know about this.
 
I'd say, GO FOR IT.

It's not very IDEAL, but I'd say that it's not that bad either, and not that hard to rank.

It's quite decent actually, considering that you got a very high exact search number per month.
 
Yes you are right, i mean 40k searches per month is a lot right?
If i get to the first page of google i can enjoy at least 10k of them right?
