I've been lurking around BHW for awhile and immediately fell in love with IM. All the methods, case studies and such have caused me to chase my first dollar online, which I have yet to recieve. I started a few Instagram accounts here and there, but now I've decided to fully take action and invest in this specific method instead of lurking around and reading method after method. I have a lot of time to work on this project as I'm just taking the final stroll out the door to college as a senior in high school.

Inspired by Meathead1234's method to $1000 a month, I am more motivated than ever to start instead of lurking around the forums. Im doing this journey to stay motivated and provide the community my experiences.

I've started last night after purchasing my web hosting and domain name for 47.50 for 12 months. Ive really never built a site before so I had to watch a few videos to gain some insight. I've watched a video on building sites with Wordpress also. Currently, I have to add an engaging, simple theme that will entice visitors to stay.

My content will follow Meatheads method. I will write 1 large homepage article that will summarize my niche and provide a broad understanding of the products and their uses, with my recommendations. I will then branch off to different categories of my niche and write 9-10 other smaller articles of my recommendations, reviews, and experiences with products. I will then decide what to do next upon finishing.

Short term goal: pick an engaging theme and mold my website into a stable, nice website, write my main article, and apply for Amazon affiliates by the time I go to sleep tonight.

Overall Goal: make my first dollar online and later achieve $1000 a month from Amazon affiliate in a specific 10-50$ niche that hundreds of millions people use daily.

Please shoot me some advice if you have any! Tips are heavily encouraged as I will need some.

Good luck. So far you have invested $50 but believe me the hard part is to keep at it. I will be following your journey, do not give up!

You mentioned that you purchased a domain - do not expect to see much traffic in the first 6 months and do not get discouraged.

You will succeed if you do not give up.

Thank you. I plan on making a Twitter, Instagram, and a Pinterest sometime soon after my content is up and target followers in my niche and drive them to my site using mass planner. Social media will play a big role in my traffic.

I cant find a theme that is good for product reviews that doesnt blatantly put the theme company's logo in it where it cant be removed. I would prefer a free theme that is simple nd fitting for a good review site but cannot find any.

Edit: fixed, im just a pure noob

Don't let lack of knowledge waver you. Learning as you go is one of the most efficient ways. Good thinking to put short term goals, they keep you focused easier. Stay motivated, and good luck with your journey!

Update: I've learned a ton so far. I spent most of my school day researching how to effectively set up a website. I've been working on this thing ever since I got home at 2. I am more motivated than ever, as I am not a wealthy individual and I am destined to get my money back and make a huge profit.

Found a solid theme and calibrated it to my liking. I've set up my "Contact" and "About Me" pages. Both finished, may do a little editing. Now to the backbone of my page. Will now start composing a home page and write my article sometime tonight/tomorrow morning.

I'm also following along and trying to work Meathead1234's method. I've had great success with his models in the past as well as direct personal workings with him, and I'm very confident that if you apply his information consistently you will get amazing results. As a newbie - you're definitely in line to have an incredible first level experience with internet marketing.

You're very lucky to find us at this time as so many other newbies who follow along with that guide will soon(within 3-6 months) discover. Cheers for your efforts, and good luck with the journey!

Congratulations on taking your first steps and working towards a goal! Through hard work, you will achieve it. I have been using the Amazon Associates program for years and it has been my primary source of online income. Meathead1234 is a top-notch contributor on BHW and after reading his post, I can assure you that he is on track to provide you with all the details you need to be successful.

A few suggestions to keep in mind:

Don't struggle with picking a theme. What I mean is that it is more important to focus on writing your content articles and getting those posted. You are looking to create a personal blog-style feel for your readers and it isn't necessary for your website to look extremely polished and professional. After you have created your content, then you can go back and fine tune the website...even test different themes to see what converts best. For now, just get started with writing quality content.

Another tip is to focus on products in your niche that fall into the $50-1000 range. I noticed that you mentioned you were looking to make $1000/month from affiliate commissions on products in the $10-50 range. I made the mistake when I first started on Amazon in going after the lower-priced items hoping that sales volume would increase commissions. While this would be true of products that practically sell themselves, you would need to drive tremendous amounts of TARGETED traffic to your website in order to earn that level of monthly income.

It will be better to spend your time and energy writing articles designed to promote the more expensive products in your niche. This will be easier to accomplish with less traffic that you will be driving directly to your review articles. Social media will be valuable for this as well as direct forum linking and blog commenting.

Good luck with your journey and be sure to update us with your experiences!

I was also worried bout the 10-50 dollar price range. However, the niche I'm in is heavily consumed every day by atleast 500 million people world wide, while having not as much competition. I think if I can drive enough traffic in through outside means such as social media, that this can be very profitable. Of course, it is all trial and error. I will see how it goes. Thank you for the advice, I really appreciate it.

Update:
Signed up for Amazon Affiliates. Spent the last 8 hours touching up the final aspects of the beginning work of the site. My home page is fully composed of a 1200 word article on recommended products in my niche and helping the buyer choose what they would like. I have a reviews page that I will work on sometime soon, a contact page, and an about me page with a persona using a stock photo. I've met my short term goal for today.

Short term goal: write another 500-1000 word article on products related to my niche that heavily rely on my niche. These products will be more expensive, ranging from $100-200. Also, I will now start a Twitter account and Instagram and target followers of those in my niche. I will be using MassPlanner to target and mass follow/unfollow to drive traffic to my site.

All is looking bright. 2 days ago I couldnt figure out how a website was even made. Now, 1 day in, I have a running, authentic website with content. It feels good. Not ditching this method until I make some money.

Questions:
For experienced amazon affiliates, how long until you made your first sale? How did the growth go?

Thank youall for your interest.

I had originally started with Amazon back in November of 2011...that was before I found this forum. I had already done some research for Wordpress website design and was interested in making a blog related to a niche that I was already interested in. I had signed up for ClickBank and Amazon as a ways to monetize that blog that I was working on adding content to.

Within about a month I had made a few affiliate sales. I was active in several forums in the same niche and pointed traffic to check out more information in the articles that I had written. I had a few simple reviews on the website and some general articles related to my niche. Some of these sales were due to traffic coming from my Squidoo lens related to the same niche.

Growth had been slow but steady until a few Google algorithm changes caused my search engine traffic to die off. I started spending more time focusing on eBay and Amazon FBA sales in recent years but still have aged domains where I will be getting back into Amazon a bit more myself.

Update:
Slow day, did some research on my niche. I have ultimately decided to move away from the $10-50 range products and instead move to the $100-300 products that are heavily related to my original niche. I will put the $10-50 products in their own sub section for reviews and such. Tonight will consist of writing a new, 1000+ word article for my more expensive niche product, while moving the original niche product to a sub section of the site. I have started a Twitter account and have gained 91 followers with 714 following. Not too bad to start, although I wouldve liked the followback rate to be a bit higher.

Update:
I apologize for the lack of updates yesterday. Quick tip: never get a girlfriend while you're on a journey.

Yesterday I got little work done. Between April 6th and now, I have wrote 5 reviews on my $100-300 product niche. I have moved my cheaper products to another category on my site. Total home article is about 1100 words, looking to reach 1600+. Overall the site looks very clean for somebody who didn't know how to create a website last week.

I'm struggling to get any clicks, let alone sales. I'm going to need to research on how to get more traffic. I'm eagerly awaiting Meathead's update today, which hopefully will be about drawing traffic.

Short Term Goals: write 2-3 more reviews on 2-3 more products on my home page. I still need to create an instagram account for my niche, and maybe a facebook and pinterest. I need to drive more traffic to my site.

Question: If I create a fake author on my "about myself" page, include his fake name, and throw up a stock picture, will that be a red flag to Amazon after I make my first sale and they review me?

Lol at quick tip^^

Keep it up OP, keep going! As for traffic, you will need to get some backlinks and do SEO to get your keywords ranked. See the marketplace << for that.
