A New Niche...A New BMW

Rank Updates - (Day 11)

Got to position 10 for the main keyword. (The one the micro niche site is about w/ 720 terms) I've just been doing those google alerts things, so I think they work. I guess lol. Ranking shave improved all across the board, and some went down. It's probably still dancing anyways.

Day 12, 13 & 14

Keyword has been dancing from the bottom of page 1 to the top of page 2, but it's all good. Getting about 9 pieces of fresh content by the end of the week for it, so I'll keep doing my alerts and take a break from that website until i get my content. The spinner I had doing the article spin didn't work out, so that put me behind schedule, but it's all good. I'll just do a paragraph of each day until it's done.

And...it's onto the next site

Did some keyword research last night and got a micro niche I want to get into. It's moderately easy, and it is very profitable. Found a writer for that, so if that works out well, I'll add about 20-30 pages of content by the end of the month. I'm going to monetize this website with CPA and adsense. Got some ideas for it already. I'm going to pick out the theme, SEO optimize it and I'll update you guys later.

Hi nice thread. Would you explain the google alert method a little bit and how do you create the 2k Web 2.0 PR2+ accounts? And last but not least do you still use BuzzBundle? Anyway looking forward to your answers. Keep it up.

I just set up a google alerts for my keyword and every day I get an email to my inbox telling me the new pages google indexed about my niche. I then just go, and drop a link there. After dropping a link, I blast it with a big ass list of wordpress comments.

I don't use Buzzbundle anymore (I use the google alerts now) And for the Web 2.0's I have a list that I built up of high PR web 2.0's.

Ok thanks. But do you build the web 2.0s manually 50 per day? I doubt that ;-)

Didn't start building any yet for the site and yes, I can do that. (Takes about 3-4 hours once I get the hang of it)

But why would you do that manually? You can do the same thing in half an hour with a tool of your choice.

Good Luck bro.
I am planning t buy a chevy camaro i like both 1965-1975 models and latest 2013 model which one should i buy.

Day 15, 16, and 17

I did nothing site related the past three days. Had tons of work to finish, so I placed this project on the shelf for the past 3 days. Anyways I'm back again :). Alright, so Sunday I ordered 6 articles, and today I got 3 back (they messed up with my order, so I'm waiting for the rest.) I'm going to be finishing up with this site soon (rankings and all) so after I get those articles posted up, it's just set and forget.

Now about site 2:

I got the two articles for that website. I'm still building the CMS (building a search engine type site for my niche) and I expect me to be finished with that in about 2 weeks. I'm going to get a couple of articles written up for the site by the end of the week.

To-do

Spin the article for the first site, and start building some real links to rank.

^That's my main priority because i find that this project is moving a tad bit to slow. Now it's back to work :)

Best of luck to you on this. That is a nice goal to have. I agree that it is great to have goals so you are able to work towards something. Keep us posted on how you are doing with all of this.

Even though it's important with short-term goals to motivate you, don't forget to invest a good % back in your business as well. Good luck on your further journey :)

Day 18, 19, 20, and 21

I started linkbuilding yesterday and did about 20 blog comments. For some reason, and I hope it doesn't affect me, when I check ahrefs it says that I built about 3.2k backlinks in one day...

I checked over all the links I built and found out that they were mostly sitewide. I'm not going to ping/bookmark the links because clearly that looks unnatural Hopefully google doesn't penalize me for doing something like this. Anyways, today I'm going to grow some balls and spin an article using ubertoolz (got it last night)

After I spin the article (should take me about a day to prep it) I'm going to find some guest posting spots and post them there. Got 4 visitors yesterday, and my keyword rankings are improving slowly but surely. I'm hoping that by the end of the week, I should be on page one for the main phrase, and on page 2-3 for the long tail keywords.

Good job OP! Setting goals is always a good way to keep your eyes on the prize so that you're not spinning your wheels going nowhere.

Great journey op :) Just make sure that you don't go aggressive with SEO.....do SEO as if you don't care whether your site rank or not and Google will show her love.

Also, don't forget to interlink your posts through LSI keywords.

Cheers.

Very true. Investing back in your business will allow you to make it grow:)

Finally Paying Off - Day 22

q5Y19Xd

*The first bar is my main keyword. There are some minor differences in terms of rankings, but it's around there.

Yesterday I posted my sudden increase of backlinks from 100 to 3.2k and I was pretty scared of making so much. Anyways, this afternoon, I checked ahrefs and I noticed that they crawled about 5.2k pages... I then went to check my rankings and behold, some results.

I didn't expect something like this to happen and I know for a fact that if I don't build anymore links, I will be penalized. So my next step is going to rank for those other terms, vary my links, my anchors, and try to lower my footprint. To top it off, I'll buy some social signals off BHW, so everything looks legit.

I'll keep you guys updated on the results off this website. So far it looks good, and it's a great motivator for me to keep working on it.

PS: I got about 20 visitors yesterday from the site alone. No amazon sales yet. I'll go ahead and add adsense later when I'm ranking to see if that converts better.

Day 23 & 24 - Some Changes

Rankings are still stable and I'm getting some nice traffic. Got about 15 yesterday. Sadly I'm not getting any clicks on my links, so i decided to add adsense to the monetization mix to see if that might show me some results. I'm still trying to finish writing & spinning this article with ubercubez. Between schoolwork, my other projects and this, I'm usually burnt out by the end of the day and only manage to get in about 20-30 minutes to write before I fall asleep. No biggie though. If I keep writing, sooner or later I'll finish it.

I think the car itself is taunting me daily. Every time I see a BMW when I'm walking to the train I get really motivated for some weird reason. Sooner or later that will be me driving that bad boy.

Another Website - Month 1, Day 27

The site is getting 20-30 visits a day, and so far hasn't made any money. I'll just leave it to sit for a while until I could get some better monetization ideas. Other than that everything is going well. Finished spinning the article and I made 5 web 2.0's and built some links to them. I'm currently at #4 and the other keywords are moving up slowly but surely. Probably in the next 2 weeks I'll add like 3 new pieces of content and see if I could rank for those terms as well.

I mentioned working on another site about 2 weeks ago. Not sure if you guys remembered, but I decided that the niche wasn't right for me, so I'm dropping that all together and focusing on building an authority site based around my hobby. It's more of a long term thing, but I know for a fact that I'll see results in the next 4 months. I'm going to build up that site this week and start working on it.

Also, I'm changing the format of the titles. Keeping track of all those dates is tedious, so I'll just go by month/day format from now on. Although the project isn't going so well as I planned, I'm learning new things every day :) I'm glad I didn't spend tons of money on the first website because right now, it looks like the niche itself is very moody, but I'll hold onto it though. Might come in useful in the future, or I might be able to sell it haha.

I'll try to go back to daily updates, but quite frankly, I've been very busy, so if you see me fall off for a week or two, drop me a pm or whatnot. :)

PS: Am I talking to myself? I hardly see any advice/discussions on the thread...
