Hi, just been reading your journey from a year ago - Fuck mate, outstanding effort!!

I'm probably on the same boat as you an year ago and you've seriously inspired me to keep a journal to keep yourself motivated and accountable too!

What a coincidence too - I'm starting an e-commerce website now and I'm really excited about making some cash to pay off my credit card debt and go off to Spain to play soccer!!!

Best of luck and I'll keep reading so u better keep updating!

Thanks man, are you any good at soccer?!

I've been lurking for a while and this is probably the best thread I've seen. Fucking sweet journey man.

Any tips for how to learn PPC? Products/books/resources/whatever?

umm. You need to learn and choose how your going to monetize your site. And with wordpress the point of it is that u can make a nice looking website, huge amount of templates customiziations and plugins and easier then hand building a website.

Sorry for late reply guys. Been in the USA working with some friends on seo stuff learning learning!

For CPA marketing

Umm for landing pages to get good qs these days I think a single landing page wont work well no more (im not sure) I don't do affiliate marketing no more (too much problems) But i think yahoo and bing are fine, standard from what I remember to have a good QS was contact us page, privacy policy page, terms and conditions etc.

Yo, I learnt PPC from a friend. But honestly I have read through the learning centre and just go for it. That shit is amazing there are amazing things in the learning centre in google adwords that alot of ppl dont talk about.

Congrats OP for your consistency. You didn't give up and wasn't afraid to try AND FAIL. Finally you succeeded.

However most fascinating was this: Sometimes you got a bunch of replies, sometimes none. You couldn't care less. At the beginning you had little encouragement. You stuck to it.

You deserve your earnings ;)

I feel like I have been too busy these days and still going in circles.

Anyway I didn't reach my goal for July 2010 but for some reason I feel that what is in motion now would be more than I expected.

I have had an e-com up for 2-3 months now, Revenue is good through facebook advertising. I stopped though and started concentrating on SEO.

SEO is doing very well I am currently top 20 for my main keywords i google dance up to to top 10 for a few days then go back down haha ^^.

I do my SEO everyday. I swear its all good but the most important thing that I know but have neglected is TRACKING.

That is the upmost important thing now because without tracking, my revenue started decreasing loss of customers etc no matter how much promotion i did (online and offline). Without tracking you can never see what your customers are doing on your page, you can never optimize your website for a better vistor experience.

So my main goal for the month of OCT is to make tracking my number 1 skill, and in that way i would feel confident to do more e-com stores.

Also I got a few more goals along the way for my e-com atm so here they are:

MONTH OF OCT 2010

1. Tracking with google analytics my best skill

2. SEO my page to top 10 and make them stick for my main keywords and start on my inner pages (BTW i only do white hat seo :D)

3. Optimize my site for better conversion (currently at 1% I want to bounce it up to anywhere above 2%).

4.Get ready for a new e-com.

I have friends telling me 1 e-com and should stick to it but then i think about it now and see that yeah 1 e-com works but in the end its business if I do 1 e-com i think i will get attached to it and thats not what I want. :)

-----------------------------------

SO for the past 2 months I stayed with a friend in USA who i swear is a SEO king (doesn't brag about it though which is why in my eyes he is gonna be the best at it). Point is he taught me a shit load and opened my eyes to many things, great friend and brodaaaa. I love the USA btw best country in the world. DC rocks. :D

I will try to update soon, I hope you guys who I have inspired are doing something great :).

So today i had a down moment. I feel like ive been doing this for way to long and not seeing where I want and seeing so many ppl fly past me. A friend then helped me realize that it was because I don't have enough clarity. I see what I want but I dont see how i get there and if i do its all over the place in my head.

You guys ever see the bigger picture? The cars? The houses? The chicks? But no matter how badly you want it, it just seems like its gonna take forever to come? haha yeah you guys lack clarity too!!

It helped me today to write out on paper, What i need to do everyday... What my goals are and how will i get it.

For example
if i want $500 a day how am i gonna get it? how many items do i need to sell in a day to get it?

Then how am i gonna do that? What campaigns do i need to create? What keywords should i target and how am i gonna target.

Really narrow it down because in your head it just goes round and round and shit gets added to it and shit gets lost. Well that helped me out a lot today.

I also realized today I shouldn't listen to my friends or family and just do wat i want to do. if i want to open up another e-com then ******** it im gonna do it if im gonna do this or that ******** it, fuk what advice i get im gonna do it anyway :D

I think I am going to write up my own blog or something. hrmmmmmmmmm

I agree, get a blog going and use it like this journal. You can also make your own product that has all the details about how you've made money so far.

That way you can get cash on the side and build a list...

Hey man I haven't seen your thread until now. I hope all goes well for you! I need to get a business plan down on paper too. I'm most likely taking a 10 week entrepreneur course soon so that should smooth things out for me a bit.

tell me how the course goes. I find the best way to get the ball rolling is to have an idea of what u wanna do in ur head and fuk the paper and start getting it rolling, contact suppliers, banks, designers.

business plan on paper comes after when it gets harder when u need to sit down and think about traffic and daily tasks.

Also in my eyes, business plans are more needed for businesses that are more physical etc since it cost sooo much more you know bro?

Its always good to have a plan. I think it makes it easier to put things in perspective.

yeah it is definitely but i dont no for me it comes in after the easy part is done which is getting the site up etc

I drew up a quick plan in about 15 minutes. I ended up coming up with easy to follow monthly and daily tasks. It actually helped a lot!
