Can you share an example of using A/B testing to boost website SEO, including the tested elements and outcomes

I tried A/B testing on my own site by changing the title tags and meta descriptions for a few pages. I used stronger keywords and wrote titles that sounded more interesting. To my surprise, the new versions brought in more clicks and my rankings improved in just a few weeks. It showed me how even small tweaks can really help with SEO.

One example that comes to mind is testing different title tags. We had a client whose product pages weren't ranking well. We hypothesized that the titles weren't descriptive enough. So we created two versions. Version A was the original shorter title. Version B we made longer and more keyword-rich incorporating specific details about the product like size color and features. We split the traffic 50/50 for a month. The result? Version B with the enhanced title tags saw a significant jump in organic traffic to those product pages. Conversion rates also improved slightly indicating the more descriptive titles attracted more qualified leads. We then rolled out the updated title tag format across similar product pages giving their overall SEO a nice lift. It was a simple change but it made a big difference.

I tried A/B testing on the title and meta description, the result was an increase in CTR by about 15% after 2 weeks, leading to a significant improvement in traffic, testing changing the content structure to clarify the main idea also helped reduce the bounce rate

A/B testing in SEO showed success when testing title tags, meta descriptions, and internal link placements. Improved click-through rates and dwell time were common wins. Small changes, like keyword placement and CTA wording, often made a significant difference in rankings.

One simple SEO A/B test you could try is tweaking your title tags and meta descriptions. For example say you have a page targeting "best running shoes for beginners." You might test variations of the title tag like "Best Running Shoes Beginners Guide 2025" against something shorter and more direct like "Running Shoes for Beginners Top Picks." Similarly for meta descriptions you could test a version focusing on benefits "Find the perfect running shoes for a comfortable and injury-free start" versus one highlighting key features "Top rated running shoes ideal for beginner runners explore lightweight options." You'd then monitor click-through rates from search results and organic ranking changes for each variation. If a specific title tag and meta description combo leads to higher click-through rates Google might see that page as more relevant and improve its ranking over time. Remember to only test one element at a time for reliable results.

A/B Test Example (SEO):

Goal: Boost CTR on Google
Tested: Meta title

Version A: “Online Personal Training | Custom Fitness Plans”
Version B: “Top Online Personal Trainers – Free 7-Day Trial!”

Results after 4 weeks:

CTR: A = 2.1% → B = 4.8%
Conversions: A = 22 → B = 41

Outcome: Version B won. Doubling CTR just by changing the title.

That’s a solid example @Siveracy Have you also tested combining title changes with structured data (like FAQ or review snippets) in the same experiment? Wondering CTR gains even further
