I found a guy who reckons he will do this for me

Wait then charge me when it features and he wants $90...

What do you think... and do you want his details?

Shoot for $90 if he can do it and show you first I would pay for it. I have been trying for 2 years to get some of my websites listed with no avail.

Does DMOZ even carry the weight it used to? Seems like an awfully expensive link. I'd like to see testing done first to determine if the link is worth it.

I'm IN for sure. Would love to have his details....

Its tough even for editors to get sites listed that are not in their section.
I know that I can accept the recommendations of other editors, but its my call in my section.
Guaranteed for $90 sounds like a bargain in my book. Must be an editor with lots of pull.

Waste of time, waste of money.

Dmoz is history and is not relevant to anything.

Unless you have privy access to Google Search techniques, you really cant qualify that statement.

Pretty much every SEO tool uses it as a factor when rating a website's SEO quality. Blackhat and Whitehat? e.g Market Samurai

I'd have thought if he can guarantee it, a 50% upfront payment and 50% upon completion would be suitable.

And I'd also clarify his timescales. He could strong you along for 12 months if your not careful.

Bargain if its true...yahoo directories charge something like $180.

I wouldn't give him jack up front. If he can get it listed then he can get it removed. Pay him once you see the listing there.

$90 is a steal for a DMOZ link in some niches.

For my niche (credit cards), I would pay $1000 for one, and it would be worth every penny.

But, if you niche is like "Gary Indiana Elementary Schools" then it might not be worth it.

Depends on your niche.

Im guess you will have loads of PMs so I wont bother you out of the blue, would you be kind enough to pass the details and ill pay within minutes

Could anyone not offer this service? I mean he enters 100 sites if 5 go through he charges them $90 each, the others dont then no big deal to him!?!

Better off doing it yourself no?

LOL you hit the nail right on the head.

You must get timescales off this guy if you are going to buy this service...otherwise you might as well do it yourself.

$90 for DMOZ is cheap, very cheap.
I submitted a few of m sites 3-4 years ago and never got an answer.
You need to be careful from the guys that say they can get you in DMOZ, never pay anything in advance, I gave it a try a couple of times and it never worked.

It's a good deal!

Do it and thell us if it works.
