Wassup Fellas,

I started an Instagram account 4 weeks ago and i currently have about 6000 followers.
The account has a total of 99 posts and averages 110 likes give or take on each photo.
The niche is Health & Fitness. I've gotten all the followers through manual social networking, no bots whats so ever.

Now, I'm going to keep building the page but am wondering if anybody has any ideas on how to monetize it.
Also, would anyone like to talk business on the account as maybe they could use it to their benefit and help me out in the process.
If so, leave your skype and I'll contact you shortly.

PS: Im new and inexperienced but eager to learn. ;);)

Cheers, Stay Focused

Keep up the good work OP.

Very low engagement, focus on better content.

Instagram 101: Have a business strategy before starting the account.

(The same way you start a business)

I put the best content I can find, no grainy insta reposts whatsoever.
I have alot of pics with 160 likes, for 6000 followers thats doing good. I don't clutter my posts with hashtags and i don't spam like or comment.

Or you build an audience while strategizing.

From what I've read, on smaller profiles (like yours is only 6k) engagement should be much higher ~10%

Big profiles (100k+) will have much lower engagement rates from 3-6%

(somebody correct me if I'm wrong on these estimates)

at 160 likes for 6000 followers, you're at 2.67%. That's not that great especially considering its still small. Not that I'm one to talk, I've just gotten started with this.

And monetizing wise, I'm guessing an online store/commerce would work.

110 likes with 6k follows is terrible, pick better followers - if you are posting girls ...follow dudes,if you are posting dudes with sixpacks ... follow dudes who follow dudes with sixpacks
with this super low engagement is way to early to think about monetization

if anybody has any ideas on how to monetize it.
It depends on what you are ready to post on your account. It can be a CPA networks, simple adnetworks or p2p agreements to post content

You can write through PM.

So your advice is to direct traffic to links they don't want?

Smart *laughs*

It depends on several things:
1) how you are planning to develop your account
2) do you use a special soft to be able to delete an ad post
3) what % of a day content would be ad posts

For manual social networking the RoE is way too low.
To me this looks more like roughly 5K bought followers.

If you haven't bought any followers, then you need to do something with your content or change up the times you post.

Don't try cpa offers on fitness people, they won't even bother and possibly block and unfollow your account.

Try to step into their shoes and see what "they want"..

Fitness meal recipes
Workout supplements
Fitness / gym gear and clothes

I think it may be the times I post, ill have to figure out when my followers are most active.
There are times i get 100 likes the first hour and other times it takes the whole day.

The content is good, it's all good looking girls in high def. I'm scraping the followers of Jen Selter, which may be too broad.

Last night I put a post with a quality fitness related product available on Amazon. I put a 301 to the affiliate link in my bio.

No sales but i think the issue is most amazon shoppers do so from a computer not a smartphone.

As Thenub said, you've really got to get into their shoes and give them content that they would want to see...

For female Health & Fitness - the majority being female followers - they are probably keen for a wide variety of things related to fitness - not just pics of good-looking ladies. Try to spice it up with other content such as HQ pics of healthy foods, motivational quotes, yoga/fitness methods, and gym/fitness gear etc. etc.

Surely shouldn't be too hard to scrape that stuff ;) :)

Don't start monetizing yet.

Keep working on your engagement, try get it a bit higher!

Just keep going. Worry about monetizing when you gain a solid base of loyal followers. Sure you could do something right now, but is there anyone you can really benefit without ripping them off? Not yet.

Treat it like a business and you will see success in the future. Always continue to learn.
