6 Guaranteed Ways to Reduce Barriers to Conversion

1. Shorten Your Lead-Capture Forms

If you are thinking that 20-field form on your landing page might be killing your lead generations……guess what? You’re right!! A ridiculously long lead capture form is one of the surest ways to guarantee that your visitors ask this question: "Is this offer really worth it?"

Think of the capture form as a first meeting. Just a handshake. Don’t ask someone you just met for their life’s history. Just ask for the absolute minimum amount of info necessary!

2. Put Landing Page Forms Above the Fold

“Above The Fold” is an old newspaper term that today simply refers to all of the content visible BEFORE the visitor needs to scroll down. This area is the most valuable real estate on your entire website. So it only makes sense that your main lead generating form should be showcased here!!

Make sure that your form is easily visible, and that the visitor understands that in order to receive the offer you're providing, filling out the form is essential. Making your visitors scroll down is just another Barrier to Conversion!!

3. Targeted Landing Pages ONLY

The more targeted you make your landing pages, the more likely it will be that you receive visitors that are actually interested in your offering. “Tire Kickers” increase your bounce rate and your close percentage. So, know your audience and make sure that your content speaks to them!!

4. Remove Top/Side/Bottom Navigation

You’ve probably worked hard and spent real time and money to get your visitors to visit your page. Make sure you keep them there!!!! Boost your conversion process by eliminating any Top, Side or Bottom Navigation buttons or links. Doing this will force the attention of the visitor to the “Call to Action” You want them to notice.

Once they have converted, feel free to bring back the navigation and you can even consider including a secondary call-to-action on your thank-you page to keep them engaged with your brand.

5. Use Actionable Language

Help your visitors know exactly what to do on your page by using actionable and definitive language in your CTA’s, on your landing pages, and in the “Submit” buttons on your capture forms. Examples of this include "Download Your Ebook Now" “Click HERE for Your Coupon, and "Register for the Webinar Today”. The visitor should NEVER have t guess or be confused on how to get access to your offer!!

6. Just Keep it Simple

When all is said and done, you don’t want your visitors to have to jump through any hoops to give you leads. Dumb it way down, and make the process as easy as possible. Always assume that you are speaking to an someone that has little to no experience with you, as if you were just introduced to them and you’re asking them for their business card so you can call them at a later date to discuss business. Because essentially, that’s exactly what you are doing!

If you found this useful let me know.
Thanks everyone!!
