5K a month selling my design

Thanks for joining. 'won't be a rollercoaster ride but let's try to have some fun.
The formating in the posts will be quite synthetic, lots of bullet and other "-". I'm too chatty, I need smth to keep me in check.

Why am I creating this Journey?
'cos i'm a fuck!ng lazy, talented mofo who never put her talents to good use.
I decided 2018 would be my year. Good start but can do better.
I saw about five journeys that were really inspiring. Not just the journey of the author, but your comments, the energy and the synergy. I could use some of that. Haven't seen the journey of someone crafting things and selling them online so, if it can motivate some in the future, great
Please be gentle, 't's my first time.

• Backstory / Context :
  - studied fashion design for 3+ years
  - 'worked in the beauty / fashion industry for approx 10years, retail and selling on internet platform, communication, merchandising etc
  - got a whole lotta stuff to transform and sale (the ony limit is my imagination, but I try not to get too crazy when crafting things'n'stuffs)

• What will I sell :
  - Cool stuff I create (won't give too much details)... let's say fashion accesorries.
  - Price range (in $$$) comprised between 25 and 175.

• How :
  - Personal website (product, blogging, SEO)
  - Social media hustlin'
  - Sell on dedicated platefrom
  - Sell in physical stores as well

• My goal :
  - 5000$$$ in one month. Depending of the price of the products; it's :
• 175$ product x 29
  
• 115$ x 44
  
• 75$ x 67
  
• 50$ x 100
  
• 35$ x 143
  
• 25$ x 200

• Why it will work :
  - Because I only invest time (a lot tho), and a little bit of my energy
  - The raw materials I use are really good quality and where given to me (no money invested)
  - the breakdown of the number of product to sell by product price range is promising
  - Oh! And I fuck!nk love what I do and create.

• "Production Line" :
  - Create a product
  - Picture, retouching / editing
  - Post on website
  - Post on social media
  - Sell -> shipping -> get the money

Of course it is not as easy as it seems, since every step listed up there is made of tiny steps sometimes dozen, to get it done. But it takes time beacuse it is the begining, fine tuning take some time and help you save some more. Much more.

I made some websites before, but never explored the seo field...
as of now the website is not up, still working on it but for the past two weeks, my head was all over the place, (working on daytime) coming home, creating stuff, setting instagram, facebook, online selling platforms, writng about pages and terms of service...

In my next post I will make a detailed "jouney map" of what I've done so far and what need to be done first. Next week should be interesting.

Look into doing T-shirt designs for AmazonMerch and its alternatives (but people tend to get much less revenue from them) like Teespring.
Apparently people make huge money from them nowadays and AmazonMerch application approval process is much faster now than it used to be - is just within a week.

I've seen some journeys in this forum, but there is also a huge & thriving subreddit about AmazonMerch, with a wiki, etc.
People either do designs themselves or partner with designers (they get % then), or just hire designers on freelance platforms.
Depending on how business-savvy you are, you can go for option #2, being that kind of designer, or handle everything yourself.

Cool! I think the merch business is very hard and competetive but if you put in the time and effort then you can make some good money eventually. First i would focus on building a brand for yourself. I would focus on seasonal t-shirts like "St. Patricks Day" t-shirts or shirts with a funny meaning that people actually find funny.

I tried the merch business 2 times and failed 2 times but don't let this bring you down. I haven't putten enough effort into it to really make a good income. Definetely read some merch journeys and guides here. I'll post a couple of threads down below. It's good to see that you are doing something you are passionate about. Good luck , Pal!
