I have been to vietnam for 1 month, actually last month. And i just fell in love. 250 is enought to live there too. But i want 500 so i can travel and enjoy live a litle :) but thanks for the suggestion

Any suggestions for making money tho? Long term? No problem if i need to spend 1000 hours.

if you have the hours to spend then do some niche blogs, create great content on them with some onpage SEO and in 8 to 12 month of constant work on them you will get to the point where you will have a steady income. There are some guys on yt that teach you to do that with almost no backlinking. Google loves good content and in time it ranks websites that grow constantly.

Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka. Basically South Asia and South East Asia give you the best bang for the buck.

Where are you from?

Are you sure it's possible to live on only $250 in Vietnam?

Vietnamese here, for expat, it will be super easy for you to earn money just by teaching English :) so, having a passive for around $250/month, and teaching English for about 4 days per week will net you around 1k-1k5 each month. If you are good at teaching, reaching 3-5k per month is easy.

Also, having 1k per month is ok to enjoy usual life there :D

$250/month aint ok to live in VN :|

I thought so.
From my quick online research, I have figured out that I would personally need around $1200/month.
Accommodation, at least for expats, seems pretty high.

Do you have any recommendation about that? Especially for Saigon.

$ 250 / tháng aint ok để sống ở VN: | [/ QUOTE]

I talked to a lot of locals in phan thiet/ in the country side he said 500 usd was plenty. I am going to cook home. So i think i will manage. But yes saigon would be more expensive so would hanoi be. But i have saving i would use to if things gets rough. But i would love to have some passive income to lean on

Well, to be able to live in SG easily and comfortably, having over 1k per month will be better. For better experience, over 2k is recommended.

Most of my expat friends rent or share houses ranging from $300-500. The rest is for your espense ie. renting bikes, bar, club, traveling, etc.

Finding jobs is also very easy for expats, especially teaching :) I have never seen any of my friends have income less than 3k per months.

in Vietnam, you can earn 10k / month if you teach a lot of people

Nah, in SG and HN, you would need much more than $500 per month to live comfortably. Even native people like us, with $500, we have to save and squeeze a few things to be ok.

Private teaching is possible, but most expats teach in English schools.

In Vietnam we are in great need of talented people who know English to teach us

Sorry, edited. You don’t need to be very talented. As long as you can speak English, you can find teaching jobs easily :)
