Over the past 12 hours I sent 5000 clicks direct linked from Zeropark to a sweeps offer that I know converts because a colleague does well with the offer. I didn't target any sources and use any tracking, I left things wide open to see what might hit and then I was going to try and narrow it down.

Any idea what the hell happened?

What traffic sources does your colleague use? Something doesn't add up if he succeeds and you not with the same setup

A source different then the one OP used.

As @supereek said, something much be wrong with your traffic source. You might want to send better quality traffic or targeted traffic perhaps.

You need to use trackers and build up a whitelist/blacklist of sites, else most pop or domain redirect traffic is crap.

Ouch. Would like to see an update if/when it does convert and hear what change(a) you made.

We're in a bit of a competitive scenario, asking for his secret sauce would be a faux pas.

that is what i was trying to accomplish; however, I wasn't even able to get one conversion to identify a decent source.

You build a whitelist when you get conversions and a blacklist when you dont.

It is a trial and error procees.

As you did not target any source or use any tracking you dont know what sites to add to your blacklist. So your 5000 was a complete waste of time and money as you dont know what to exclude when you try again.

So sort that tracking out, build a blacklist/whitelist and keep trying again until you get success.

From the last time I used them, Zeropark's traffic pretty much comes from parked domains. That type of traffic is super low quality, so 5,000 clicks might sound like a lot, but in reality it isn't. You need to install a tracker, send more clicks, and start blocking domains that don't convert and keep the ones that do.

Personally, I would ask your friend for recommendations for traffic sources. He probably won't tell you where he's getting his traffic from, but he'll probably point you in the right direction.

didn't realize you could blacklist sources, will have to look into this.

great, thanks.

What ad format did you use?
YOu need to use tracker anyway, and create your own WL/BL
Also, you can ask your manager, what`s wrong with the sources

I didn't know Zeropark had managers the way networks did I thought you just submitted an issue?

ZeroPark is not something that you should start out with. It's true that is has lots of volume but a lot of trashy volume as well. You have also mentioned that you did not have set up any targetting which makes it even worse. I suggest you start out with another Source (such as PropellerAds, RichAds, Admaven, EvaDav) - They have way less volume and it's easier to optimize without spending lots of traffic on testing. I would use ZeroPark only when i already have a well optimized funnel and i wanna expand my sources.

Also, please do use the multiquote feature when replying :) I have merged your posts above.

You gotta optimize.

Use something like voluum.

Track what landing pages are getting the cheapest engagement (clicks), block/remove the bad ones.

Then run ads again and this time track what is getting you conversions, and get rid of the stuff not converting.

Its a long process.... can't just write it here in a few lines, but just throwing money at this and thinking you'll get conversion will not work.
