5 Years Later and Still Struggling

You seem to have a good supply of constant work, so why not start outsourcing and taking on more clients? That way, you won't directly be trading time for money anymore.
I have been trying to make that move this week. Articles in the open pool at iWriter impossible to outsource because they have a 3 or 5 hour limit to grab and return, but when i get direct orders that have a 5 days deadline, I am shipping to oDesk to get them written now so I can look for more high-paying clients willing to wait that long for my work.

Still focused on working "smarter" rather than harder today, when I realized my method for drilling down and finding long-tail keywords is too time consuming and possibly not as effective as some of the tools that might be out there. Currently I take my search terms to Adwords and look for low competition, decent searches globally for the month, and it takes a while to find low-hanging fruit.

Keeping with the theme of working smarter, thought I would reach out again to see if there are free keyword tools on this forum you recommend over the others so I am not wasting even more time searching through a number of tools. Appreciate any help! Thanks.

@Punisher I just want to wish you good luck in your journey,
I know how it feels to get back to the beginning. But don't feel low anyhow, this happens to everyone.

I'm on the same boat as you, as of now. The only difference is that I'm 24 years old.

Made more than 20k$ in the last two years ( I would made about 10K in two years if I worked in a Moroccan company )
So it's not that bad if things got hard from time to time. We are making more money this way. We just need to keep going until we hit the jackpot.

So we just need to hustle and try new things until we find that sweet spot.

Good luck again.

Try to read / learn something about dropshipping..may be the key for you

Thanks Diso and lorentzo. Appreciate the encouragement. Drop shipping is a great idea for one of my niches, I will look into it. I already have this renewed sense of energy and made more money yesterday working the same hours but not as hard. Found my keyword tool and like having to proofread articles today rather than writing them. Adding 3 articles a day now to a bunch of different niches, spent less than an hour. Onward and upward......

Also, you need to do some networking here in BHW ( you have been here for a long time now )

You should have a lot of friends that you can share sensitive infos with .. they will help you out .. and you do the same when you find something working.

Hi Guys!

Been here on this forum five years, so this isn't a newbie post or a post about looking for the Holy Grail without doing any legwork. I am looking for a measurable way to generate $100+ a day that I can build on!

I read the downloads section daily, I read many of the other threads consistently, and I have tried many of the techniques with limited success.

I am highly rated on several writing sites, and I can make $50-$100 a day if I literally kill myself at the desk for 15 hours. Its doable, but it is not sustainable. I get sick or take a day off, no income. Besides, I am 50 years old this week and my eyes can't keep writing everyday to make a living.

I tried website flipping. made a killing in the days when Flippa was letting us sell clone sites for hundreds a piece. Those days are gone and it takes a long time to make a site that will get that type of return on a consistent basis.

In these five years I have built Amazon affiliate sites, my own affiliate sites, sold on eBay, sold on Amazon, and even sold on Bonanza too. So I find a program that looks like it can sustain, I sink weeks, months, and even years into it, and now 5 years later still barely treading water.

I don't mind reading the programs and putting in the work. I just want to find something that I can commit to 100%, see results, then increase my production and see results improve in a measurable way. I spent years building affiliate sites and funnels, and today some make pennies, some dollars, some nothing, and it is sporadic.

Rant Over! Just hoping some of the guys and girls here at BHF could just nudge me in a direction to where i could commit again and finally see results I can measure. I look at it this way, you work a job for $10 an hour, 40 hours later you know you get $400. You work an extra hour, and extra $10. I want something that will increase as my level of hard work increases, not grow, then level off, then sink, then grow.

I know there might not be a magic bullet, and i have tried many things here. I don't quit easy, I don't try things half-assed, I don't even ask for handouts. I wondering if I missed a niche or a program for someone like me who can sit at his computer for 15 hours a day and at the end of the day see something concrete. Then tomorrow build on it, etc etc...

I have seen results with many of the things here, i even wrote 15 books that are on Amazon, and they were doing great until Amazon dropped the commission from $2 a book to 10 cents a book, and I just lost the drive. I can not keep writing articles every day to pay the bills, I am burning out after 5 years of writing 7 days a week in addition to all the other things I mentioned.

Hate the thought of a 9-5 when I know there is so much opportunity here. Please don't flame me dudes, I really am just tired and looking to get excited about something that really has legs to get me out of this shitty lull i am stuck in. If you can point me to a download, a niche, or an idea, I would really be grateful. Not looking for anyone to reveal any secrets or expose your sweet spot, just a 50 year old guy who is burning out after 5 years and finally asking for help....

Thanks, appreciate any and all feedback......
Dude! That's why you should be focusing on building a business! :)

Stop jerking around methods where you are at the mercy of other big companies and start a business you really like!

Focus on attracting audience, making them your recurrent buyers and bank!!

Here's an opportunity: you know how to create ebooks that actually SELL! Why not teach people how to do that? I bet there are tons of people out there that would like to sell ebooks just as we both do! :)

Think big man, and i dont give a flying duck if you are 50 or 150! If you are still breathing, you CAN DO IT!

NOW GO AND MAKE YOURSELF PROUD!!!

So in my quest to $150 a day steadily, yesterday was a HUGE day. Sold two huge pieces at one of my Amazon sites, combined with bounties, made $187 by noon yesterday. Combination of jobbing out articles, using tools to do grunt work, and persistence, and best day in 2016 CAN NOT be a coincidence. I appreciate all the PM's I have received with tools and resources to keep fine-tuning my daily efforts. Already at $50 today and I haven't written 1 article today. I will write some to pad the total and keep focused on working smarter and not harder.

Just a follow-up to last weeks post.

Since Thursday blasting past $150 for the day, I leveled off Fri & Sat, but today had 4 affiliate sales and one huge bounty. I have been monitoring these sites all year, and since I added some new keywords to the articles getting done a Odesk, traffic is exploding. Traffic on 2 of the sites went from 20 a day to 176 a day steady for the past week. Two of the articles are ranking on page one for their long-tail term. I am actually writing LESS, making MORE, and grateful to all who continue to PM me with things I can use to stay the course.

Appreciate everyone's help!

Did not read everything here, but "look for low competition" in AdWords looks like a red flag to me. The competition level in adwords is just for the PPC side, so if you wanted to pay fo those keywords on AdWords you'd look for low, but as you may be a publisher (say adsense) you would want high here. Now, if you look for ranking competition this is NOT where you want to be.

Good luck

I'm no expert on making money as I'm mainly a lurker here who likes to read journeys and see new ways people are using the internet to make money, but for me you need to find out WHY are you marketing on the internet? Do you already have a job and just doing this as a hobby? Do you want some extra money to buy your kid something nice for their birthday? If you think about it like you're just doing it to earn money, then it will just be like your every day job and you wont enjoy it. Set a goal for yourself, for example you want to pay off your car with only the money you make from the internet, or buy a heater for your pool. Then decide what it is you want to do.

Hey there Punisher, I skimmed through the 1-5 pages here, I came to realize you need new "working" concepts. If you want to chat/message my skype is below. I made my account not to long ago since I seen some posts were good and informative however very little "expand" in a huge way. If you have money you are raking in, you need to extend into large ball parks. See when I was only designing logos and making websites and such in the past, that becomes like a job, put in the hours, make the money, pay the bills, do all over again next week. That doesn't lead to anywhere good, trust me. I myself am TERRIBLE at making the initial money needed to do something big, but I am great at making money on top of money. I am a concept dealer, I help people lean in multiple directions, sometimes with their money, sometimes with their skills. If I knew you want to make HUGE amounts, I would tell you how to do some deals and introduce you to a banker that handles high end investments with mitigated risk. If I wanted to use what I seen what you post here, good at writing and the like, I would point you in the direction of a grant research and writing position and utilizing the marketing perks and amazon and other skills, knowledge etc... to put that into that business as you are doing the same stuff you do now, you search, you write, you proofread, you submit.... the difference is if I deal with 'one' grant to research and write, I can charge $3,000 just for writing it up based on the recommendations the grantor gives. Hundred of thousands get in on one grantor all the time, just think of what you would be making if you found one top grant, and got even 1% of the people out of that, you would be making more than 80K per year. Many different things you can do with all you know now and since you seem to be willing to learn, you can do even more.

One thing I have told those around me, if you want to move around on your feet and get things done, do your research first and then move on it, if you want to sit on your butt all day and gain money, get someone, make an agreement and have them use your money to build up for you. Don't answer the mail to your long lost uncle that died and left you MILLIONS, lol.

I can give you ideas, or tell you where you are messing up.

...I don't try things half-assed,...

i think thats the problem. you try things half-assed, but you dont know it.
in 5 years you have tried so many things including ebay bonanza amazon etc etc.
i've done e-commerce including ebay bonanza amazon google shopping etc for 7 years. i folded because i never liked it (which resulted in eventual failure).
it took me half a years to start making money from tumblr. it also took me over half a year for instagram, and my 1st twitter account was 8 years ago.

you didnt dig deep enough. (trying everything at the same time is also a problem for me still.)

I realize this thread is many months old, but this is fucking solid advice. I know tradesmen sitting on piles of cash and I know IM'ers that are struggling.
There is no shame in building a great life in a field you love. If you clean people's shit, be the best shit cleaner ever and make bank.

I'm going to give you something to think about, and don't think I'm trying to be a dick...

5 years is a long time. People finish college in less time. People raise kids and send them off to school in that time.

The reality: maybe making money online isn't what you are destined to do...

The key is to find something that:

A) You fucking love doing
B) You can offer value by doing it
C) You know what you are doing

Can't have one or two without the other. Need all 3.

I'll give you an example. A friend of mine wanted to live the easy life. He was the typical fucking retard that bought every WSO. The type that would buy every freaking $97 product that would hit the market, just hoping it would be the secret formula to doing nothing and getting paid for it. But he really didn't love it, and he had shit to offer, and didn't know what he was doing.

He really liked doing home remodeling projects. He was the type of guy that would be the first to volunteer to help friends redo their kitchen or bathroom. Never wanted money either. Feed him cold beers all day, and he would crank out amazing work....because he loved doing it.

Fast forward a couple years and he is sitting pretty on a pile of money and a thriving business. He buys foreclosures and shitholes, renovates then and sells them or holds them if they are multi-family and rents them. He is kicking ass. Not working online. He grinds in the real world and sweats his ass off but he is happy.

Too many people assume the online world is kick back and chill and make money. Reality: getting fat, less social and diabetes. Don't let the guru fucks fool you with the work from a villa in bora bora all day while you bang 10 girls and count money. There are just as many happy people that make a living doing normal jobs and running traditional businesses.

Find something that you love and you will be in a great state of mind. Life is fucking short...be happy.

Good luck to you man.

IM is not all sunshine and rainbows fellas, I know we all dream of being like king Solomon, having many wives to choose from. Different ethnicity every night etc.. oh em gee (would that be nice). but what netmoney says is the truth. This shit is work. You gotta be disciplined and discerning.
