$5,000 Per Month WITHIN a Month

$99/month SEO...awesome.

This is basically like saying, "I'm opening up a car repair shop and will do car repairs for $10 each.

1. You can't possibly provide value at that price point
2. You are going to end up having more pissed customers than happy ones
3. The suckers that you get to sign up will leave fast - your churn rate will be through the roof
4. You will end up fucking more sites than you help ($99 SEO?!?!?!?!)
5. Sales reps? Are you paying them? When you account for paying them and profit for the business it makes it clear how low quality this SEO will be. Painfully low.
6. I've missed Veyron. Welcome back.

Hey... I actually went to a car repair shop the other day and spent $12 for them to put a new tire on my rim :D

But anyways, I understand what you guys are saying about there not being much value. But I still think it's a great idea.

I'm guessing you guys have heard of Web.com / NetworkSolutions? They do the exact same thing. You can sign up for monthly SEO at a low cost, and they actually sell the shit out of it.

There might not be that much value, but I think it's targeted towards unsavvy website owners with crappy sites where it really could value them. Like I said in my last post, there are a lot of oblivious website owners out there. You might not see it on this forum because a lot of people here atleast know the basics. But there are a lot of websites out there that are impossible to find because of how bad their SEO is onpage and off. Ghost websites!

I'm guessing you guys have heard of Web.com / NetworkSolutions? They do the exact same thing.

I'm very familiar with web-dot-com. I have trolled the shit out of them...and even their SMALLEST deal is $300/month and it doesn't include SHIT.

So, for this "plan" that involves sales reps and all this crap hawking $99/SEO....it will fail. 100%.

The only thing this service will be good for is burning domains to the ground. Fact. Poor unsuspecting business owners. Just because they are unsavvy isn't an excuse to bend them over and fuck them in the ass with pure shit.

if the leads are cold calls its going to be a challenge to close two a daily.

I have been on the business side of app development outsourcing and we would contact clients that dropped us inquiries, it would still take us 3-4 weeks to chase a luke warm lead. average ticket size was around $ 5000 - $ 7000 per client.

Good luck with it, though if it were me, I'd be skeptical about how good the service would be for $99 / month. Not saying you would provide a bad service, but alot of businesses have been burned in the past because of shoddy SEO. I reckon you'd have more success trying to sell SEO for a much higher price and get less customers than more. Think about it, all you need is 5x customers at $1000 / month and you've reached your goal.

Quality over quantity.

Not everyone Zand, is willing to pay a thousand Dollars for SEO per month, except you're making much more than that and except it's for business brands.

His price looks okay for me, all he have to do, is to have plans like Silver, Gold and Daimond, each having a different and higher amount with more offers.

That would spike up his business! Good luck bro!

You're doing absolutely wonderful!

This idea is terrible.

Your numbers are not based in reality, nor are your expectations.

If you only got $5k, don't even think of opening a physical location.

Also how are you going to pay your employees? If they only close 1 a day (and that's a big if), that leaves you $99 before you even invest anything into SEO. You obviously can't afford to pay them hourly, so you're going to be 100% commission based? Even if it was 100% commission (ie you gave them $99/sale), who would take that job? People who take 100% commission jobs are looking to for big $$$ per sale because they know sales are few and far between.

Also you have to account for things like furnishing your office, utilities etc. which will eat up huge expenses. Then there are taxes you need to pay and depending on where you live other licenses/permits you need to fill out.

Seriously dude, start lean and then expand once your biz is successful.

Your plan is a surefire way to lose all your cash and end up working the drive-thru at McDonalds.

P.S. I live in Canada here and the Doctors are free and from what I see, plumbers only get paid $30-$75 per hour. It must be nice living in Australia if they're getting $1000 per job/appointment.

Plumbers get paid the same rate in Australia. But a plumber generally charges 4 hours minimum, or they will have a call out fee (I'm sure it's the same in US, Canada, UK, NZ etc). On top of this he will have materials and parts to buy. So minimum for one job, you might be looking at say $250. At that rate, the business would only need to make four sales to recover their costs.

If you are getting a business 1-2 calls per day, they are going to be very happy with your service, and you're probably going to wish you charged more lol.

You really haven't thought it through and as has already been said, your figures are way off. Let's ignore the fact your conversion estimates are wildly optimistic for now and assume you hit your targets.

So you have a total income of $60K per year. That's not even going to cover your expenses. Your office rent and telco costs alone are going to be at least $20K.

So you are already left with just $40K and you have 4 salaries to pay.

So you, your 2 brilliant salesman and your SEO expert are all going to be happy with a yearly salary of $10K each?

And you are going to have many more expenses than telco and office costs.

Just a few basic questions, which you presumably know the answers to:

Are you tied to using the office provider's phone system?
If so, do you know what the costs are going to be? Here's a clue - they are exorbitant.
If not, what telephone solution are you going to use - bearing in mind you need 7 lines in the first month.
Have you worked out what the call costs are going to be - bearing in mind you are projecting 10,000 calls per month?
What payroll solution are you going to use?
If you are in the UK for example, you need to pay employer's NI contributions too (currently 13.8%) - do you know the rules in your country?
How much will your accountant cost?
Have you decided on a CRM system? Because if you are calling 10,000 clients per month, you are going to need one.
How are you going to find 10,000 potential leads per month?

Oh - and this rather important one - how are you going to convince people to work for you for less than $10K per year?

And trust me, those are just a few very basic questions. There are dozens more.

No need posting any more replies. Once Veyron gets called out on his new accounts he stops posting. This has happened over a half dozen times. I love how he can't even get to 10 posts. It must be killing him...sitting at his moms house just so upset.

Maybe he should change his name to Clapped Out Ford Escort

Ok this post already has enough negative replies so let me just sum it up:
You can't provide any quality with a $99/month budget,
Here's why:
Sales Reps:
Joe works 8 hours a day, for lets say $8/hour, does he get a commission for each sale? (usually thats how sales jobs work, but lets leave it out) - thats $64/day
lets say he worked 24 days/month and closed 1 deal every day, that brings in a whopping $2400/month, lets even say you have 5 of these guys, each will close the same amount of deals. you are now making $12,000/month!! are you?
Rent: $750
Utilities: $400
Taxes, accounting, etc: $500
Employees: $7680

that leaves you with $2670 and 120 websites to handle SEO for. and to be honest, i dont think you can even handle 1 website

I have not mentioned SEO expenses, and i have left out some other daily expenses.
Point is, your plan sucks.
Good luck!

I actually used to work for Web.com/NetworkSolutions.com and I can tell you that their smallest deals are not $300, atleast when I was there. You won't be able to find much information and pricing on their website because they want to speak to people over the phone.

Now that I think back... I think they're SEO prices were less. Like $79/month if I remember correctly. But then for $100/month, they actually would build your website, host it, and do the SEO. It's pretty brilliant actually when the Web Hosting and Design goes with it because the customer can potentially be paying $100/month for years and decades.

There might not be much value in it for most users. But for some it will be. It's targeted towards local SEO which can be so easy to rank for. Usually it's just a matter of onpage SEO. I don't see how this is comparable to fucking unsavvy clients in the ass. They're paying a small price for a small value. If OP can make sure everything onpage is great then he is on the right track. It's really not a bad idea. I would think if a billion dollar company can do it like Web/Netsol, then OP might have some luck with it. Who knows, maybe he can offer customers to purchase additional addons or plans to provide a better service. Like Web.com is doing with their $300/month "Full Service SEO".

As for sales, they also do cold calling (in addition to selling on incoming calls) and some of their sales reps make about $100,000 per year in commission from selling so much stuff.

LOL - are you not reading the replies here?

His plan is not doable. Not at all.

PURE COMMON SENSE rules everything.

Not if he wants to pay his "employees"
Not if he wants to make profit
Nothing. Zilch.

But it doesn't matter anyway. This is a BS thread started by a previously banned member that comes back dozens of times with this crap and gets called out every time.

Thanks for the responses everyone, a lot of you are right on certain aspects in terms of pricing, over head costs & expenses and I'm sure there will be come changes in my plan that will be made accordingly, of course, no business plan is perfect and as momentum builds and as actions are taken, adjustments will be made where they need to be to ensure the health of the business is maintained. This may include an adjustment in the pricing of the service and a change in how I bring in sales (i.e. Building clientele myself before hiring callers).

A couple of members above were questioning the quality of the service in comparison to the price point I'll be offering the SEO at, well, as you can guess, for $99, they're not going to be receiving the best of the best but one thing I WILL NOT do, is risk the the health of my clients site by instituting SEO practices that will harm their site(s). I will only be practicing White Hat SEO as this isn't a business model I'm looking to churn and burn, the ultimate goal here is to create a stable brand that's beneficial for both my clients & myself.

Perhaps the numbers I threw out in my previous comment were a bit premature and more then likely, I'll make the appropriate adjustments to be sure the income will support the operational & fulfillment expenses. What I'll probably end up doing is change the starting package to $199 and then perhaps offer two additional packages going up in $100 increments. I'm not definitively saying that these are going to be my price points but as I sit down and map out a plan of action and calculate all costs of the operation and fulfillment of each package, I'll be in a better position to create the price points for the service.

I'm not looking to become a millionaire or retire in a year, I'm expecting ups and downs and I'm by no means expecting everything to go as planned, but with every mistake that's made, I'll become better prepared to lead the company on and if things get tough, I'll get tougher. This is not an impossible business model and with the right planning and the resources to bring that planning to fruition, it can happen.

Without trying though, you'll never know if it's going to work or not.

White hat for $99 and $199 a month.

Good one Veyron. You should be a comedian. Really. That was good.

If everything goes as planned, I will have 5 reps making rougly 75-100 calls per day to the leads I provide to them in hopes that each rep closes 2 leads per day at a $99 per month subscription. If this can be accomplished, within a week I will have built up a clientel of 50 monthly subscribers for $99, reaching my $5,000 per month goal. Even if each rep closed one deal per day and it took 2 weeks to accomplish this, that'd be great. Or, if each rep only signed up one lead every 2 days, I'd reach my $5,000 per month within 1 month. If each rep made 100 calls per day and only closed one deal every other day which would put me at my 5K per month goal within 1 month, that would only be a 0.05% conversion rate, surely an achievable number.

It all depends on how good your leads are + how good of a sales force you have. Good leads + good salespeople you can burn it. But good leads are expensive. Good salespeople are even more expensive. Where did you get yours from?

One tip: If you are working with newbies try to let them call businesses where they have some experiences with. That lowers the psychological barrier for them. He doesnt know seo yet but he has worked for a lawyer before so might be more comfortable calling a lawyer and will make stronger impression then. That is how I did cold call when I started and it helped me a lot.

Good idea, if they're calling a business owner that's in a field the rep is already familiar with, the likelihood of getting the sign up is much greater. Not only that though, it's the personality of the sales rep as well as when selling anything, you need to first sell yourself. It's really all about how you speak to people and even if a rep I have has never sold SEO in the past, almost all reps have some experience and are looking for a job because their last position as a rep was no longer available so a majority already know how to speak to prospects on the phone. Once they have the script down and are able to make a good connection with whom they're speaking to, the decision making most of the time for the client should only come down to the price which is why I'm wanting to stay competitive on the prices.
