$4,000+/mo from Twitter, Pinterest, FB & Datafeedr

Hello All -- Im an intermediate at IM having done a number of projects over the past 7-8 years with marginal $$ success. Average was $500 to $2K a month from Adsense, Adwords, eBay, CJ and others. Biggest accomplishment was selling 25 niche url / domains for $15,000 profit.

Due to my company's layoff last year, I had time once again to focus on generating income. In March 2012 I researched which of the newer methods would work best to reach my goal.

GOAL:
My goal was to make up to $4,000+ per month if not more.

RESOURCES:
• Twitter -- 4 accounts with 1K, 5K, 8K, 12K followers
• TweetAdder3 -- to increase followers, schedule tweets & DM links
• Facebook -- 2 pages with 200 & 500 followers
• Pinterest -- 1 account with 200+ followers and 15 boards
• Niche WP Domain
• CJ, Avantlink, Amazon
• DataFeedr - build a niche online store into my WP domain using products from CJ & Avantlink

METHOD:
+ Automate posts of "sales" items with links every hour on Twitter accounts
+ Send DM messages to new & existing Twitter followers with site link - min 150/day
+ Follow similar niche profile followers on Twitter to get followback - 300/ day
+ Pin products on Pinterest linking back to Online store site - 20 pins/day
+ Post Products & relevant content on FB page with linkbacks - 2 to 3 posts/day
+ SEO, meta tags & relevant keywords on site (mostly automated due to Datafeedr)
+ Weekly email newsletter to growing database from site & twitter traffic
+ Product reviews with existing Youtube videos placed on site
+ Use additional methods learned on this site & input from colleagues

As mention, I started this particular process a year ago, with a soft launch in April/May 2012.

UPDATE: April - June 2012

I was fortunate enough to have 3 twitter accounts that I hadn't touch in 3+ years. During that time, they each had relevant news auto feeds posting (using twitterfeed) thus the follower base naturally grew. So when I launched in April, i had a good size audience to work with.

I decided to hold off on launching the WP site, and focus on posting affiliate links to see what success I could get from this. Each hour, a new item would post on each account. The results were dismal at best.

April: $0
May: $0
June: $50
July: $100

then things suddenly changed for the good ...

Subscribed! I am intending to do some similar stuffs this year, but not affiliate things, as I would like to set up wp store selling own items. what attract me is ur social media marketing section, as I saw u automate the most of this process, so wondering how u complete this? would u be willing to share source u used for this?? UPDATE: July - October 2012

Knowing I was no where near reaching my goal, I decided to put more effort into this. I created a niche WP site using Datafeedr to build an online store using merchant products from CJ & Avantlink. The process took about a week mainly to fine tune the layout and narrow in on the type of products to feature. In addition I created FB page, Instagram & Pinterest profiles for the site, which were linked. I automated as much of the process as I could, however I still needed to put min. 1-2 hrs in each day for updating.

Web traffic and clickthroughs started to increase, however the final sales conversion on the affiliate side wasn't happening. I started to doubt my audience's interest & if the traffic was false.

Then suddenly, I was notified by a number of merchants that my account was being shut down due to Internet Sales Tax law which affected my state. Frustrated, I figured this became a waste of time & start focusing elsewhere. However, I found a few merchants offering generous CPC that fit my niche.

Within days, my revenue skyrocketed as CT & Traffic steadily increased. I started to really optimize my approach to increase daily revenue.

I went from $120/month to $1000 every 5-7 days.

THEN ... I made $12,000 within 88 days!!!

UPDATE: November 2012 - March 2013

With the new $ I just made, I decided to find additional ways to increase the revenue flow. If I could make $1000 every 5 days, could I double that? Sadly I got a bit greedy and my agressive methods started to get flagged.

Immediately 3 of my twitter profiles got shut down due to excessive follow/unfollowing activity and "spam" reported posts. Then the kicker was the merchants notifying me about the elimination of CPC programs. One said it was due to minimal sale conversions generated by the high traffic I was sending them. I was baffled as I made extra efforts to ensure a more qualified follower base, eliminating any spam or inactive follower profiles. So with that, the cash flow dropped back down to a trickle.

Now I am focusing on pushing traffic back to the niche wp site with the datafeedr affiliate store. Besides the links on Twitter, the 2nd largest generator of traffic is coming from Pinterest. However the sales conversions and banner CT is only bringing in approx $200/mo.

ASKING FOR SUGGESTIONS

So I am asking the community for their suggestions on ways to push the revenue back up.
Ive been looking for new CPC or related programs that fit my niche, but haven't found any. Also I want to build up my social profiles so they can help drive traffic of more qualified buyers. What else?

Ive been successful once in hitting my goals, I know I can do it again!

Thanks for those who msg me regarding the earlier success. Im trying some new methods to increase revenue again and hopefully reach the elusive $4K/mo. Ive seen a slight bump in the past few days.

Here is what I have done differently:
+ Started writing consistent and fresh blog posts & product reviews to include keywords
+ Added Adsense to site mixed with affiliate banners
+ Added Optin Revolution plugin to get more subscribers
+ Launch 3-5 more Twitter accounts & use TweetAdder to build up followers

NEXT:
+ Need to find additional ways to increase FB, Pinterest & Instagram followers. I've spent about an hr each day "liking" others photos & pins to help gain awareness & followback. Will look into auto bots to take this off my hands.
+ Tweak site to push consumers to hit the "buy now" buttons & send them to affiliate site.

UPDATE - April 2, 2013

Decided to put my site on hold until I do some more research on fully making it profitable & automated. Ive been doing research on Shopperpress by utilizing Datafeedr feeds. But I can't find anyone to go on record if they have had success with this route.

So for the time being, I just launched another niche site based upon this BHW thread:

Took me half a day to find the right wp theme, and make minor tweaks. Now just uploading cool & relevant content. I also created matching FB page, Twitter & Pinterest profiles to help drive traffic.

Ill post daily updates when I can regarding my progress.

I'm interested to see how this turns out.

Spent most of the day optmizing the niche site - adding optin revolution to build lists, added more content, pinned on pinterest ...

saw some traffic coming in just from seo and already got one sale on amazon. Will spend more time this weekend promoting it through StumpleUpon and others.

UPDATE: April 7, 2013

Project 1: Was able to automate the entire posting process to all my major social profiles (fb, twitter, pintrest, stumpleupon...). This will help with the entire process, if not help limit the time I put into this each day. Tomorrow, will fix UI on the site to make it more presentable before I really launch the site. Goal is to have 2-3 items post through out each day.

Project 2: Was able to find a great theme for my niche ecommerce store running through Datafeedr. Will create the site to be more of a magazine format, utilizing drip products to do Product reviews with existing YouTube videos from the affiliate retailers. Will also purchase niche keyword-rich articles through resources to populate the site. Goal is to spend min. 20 hrs per week on formatting then having everything else be automated.

I should have both of these projects working at 100% capacity within in 2 days

UPDATE: April 11, 2013

Project 1: Site is going, as Im posting about 1-2 items per day. With the Auto-posting onto all of the social profiles, its brought in some good traffic. It's interesting to see Reddit actually doing quite well, over double the traffic that Stumpleupon, Tumblr or Pinterest are bringing in. Going to tweak this a bit to optimize traffic.

Project 2: Relaunched niche site into a magazine format that showcases Daily Deals, Featured Products & How To Videos. Already daily traffic has tripled compared to previous version. Twitter is the most significant traffic driver followed by Pinterest. I going to set up auto post for Reddit & Stumpleupon and hopefully traffic will jump. Pageviews per UV is 12.5 compared to 1.2 on old site.

Adsense had slight bump but not much = $5.60

Firstly, let me congratulate you on your success. Perfect example of how hard work and persistence can really pay off. When I first started in IM it took 6months for me to really make money.

Thanks. It took me a long time also to find the right way to make money. I think I must of done over 30 different methods over the years seeing which worked best. The one that made me $12K just fell into my lap as a fluke. Mainly it was a CPC method on affiliate products, that was fueled mostly by Twitter. Ive been trying to replicate it since the retailer shut down my account, but haven't found one that does CPC. But by far that was the most effective method, quick cash and easy to scale up. To save your twitter accounts you can buy 20k-40k fake followers from fiverr, so you don't have to unfollow anyone, those followers will remove the following limit.
