301 redirect question!

I have few domains that I want to 301 to a specific domain, so basically 5 domains to 1 domain! Ideally I would not want to keep these hosted but if no other way I will!

please advice the best seo oriented way of doing this.

there is no hosting needed for them but...

if they're blackhat you should get 5 name servers for those...
if they're whitehat (.org,.net,.ccTLD's directed to same name .com) you can just use the GoDaddy cpanel and change the @ to your main domain
 
Some of the registrars do have 301 redirect enabled but I am not sure which registrar has it right now. What registrar do you use by the way? 301 redirect is the seo oriented way and most probably you would need a hosting for that. Just get a multi domain shared linux host. It's dirt cheap anyway.
 
I use godaddy and all of them in one account with privacy enabled!
 
lmxftw this is Blackhat so how would I get different nameservers if I use godaddy? Do you know if they have the 301 in their panel?

can I then still build tiered links to these domains to pump juice through to target domain?
 
Godaddy doesn't have 301. Why not get another shared linux server for that? Should cost you less than $5 per month..

You would need 301 redirect for passing the link juice.. Allthough some of the members will oppose!!

So basically re- upload or move sites to new hosting, then do a 301 from there!

2 questions:
cheapest/ best hosting for this?
best way to do 301 for best seo benefit?

appreciate the help, will be my first attempt at this!
 
if it's blackhat I recommend you build the links first and add the 301's after.

name servers is where your domain is 'stored'... basically the relay between user and domain.
each registrar/hosting provider has it's own DNS but since you have the domains on godaddy and it's expensive to move them to new registrars and you have to wait 3 months to move it to a new registrar I suggest you build 3 months worth of links onto them, move them different registrars (easier than setting up DNS servers) and 301 them... it's also safer from a BH standpoint

@ g0g0l: while they don't have a 'click here to 301' it can be done through subdomains & CNAME record settings but yes, your idea is better :D

THere are many cheap hosting providers like hostdime, bluehost and so on. Go for any of them as uptime doesn't really matter here. The best way for 301 would be to map each of the old urls to new urls. I am not sure if that is the thing your are trying to do or trying to redirect all urls to home.

Not sure about doing that with CNAME. Would you make a sub domain entry -> redirect that to subdomain and then redirect the sub domain to the new url? Looks possible :)

EDIT: Ooops looks like godaddy is allowing 301 redirect currently? I could not find one when I had an account with them lol.

yeah I wasn't being sarcastic... couldn't find a redirect button but I clicked the forwarding and saw it there so I posted the pic but forgot to write 'EUREKA!!!'

Thanks for the help! You guys are awesome! So is there no benefit in building links after they are 301ed? I thought they may act as a buffer?
 
if you're building the links after the 301 Gbot will see through it faster and your monkeysite will be prawn to penalties... and they will come faster.

when you're building links you're also inviting Gbot to see the links and Gbot works like this:

link1 -> link10
link2 -> link11
....
link10

it doesn't go from link to link but rather analyzes all the links on a page and adds the 'targets' onto it's list of future visits so building through the 301 will make him go to your site a lot so the people at Gspam will still get flags like 'woah this guy is getting a lot of links'....

when you build the links first and after that you 301 the domain Gbot will come to your site 1 time (if all the links on the 301 have already been crawled and indexed) and then just leave you alone for a while :)
 
In case you needed to hear it one more time - you can do it at the DNS level, no hosting needed :) Should take all of about 15 seconds.
 
Thanks for all the assistance! Would you blast the sites with links or build more quality links? What links work best in these type of 301's? I will build links before I do the redirect!
 
High PR (DA/PA) like sape with exact match anchors, and then lots of spam for anchor text variation...
 
Get the dedicated hosting server and look at their up time because it is important there are few avaiable in market like blue host,host gator e.t.c keep them hosted provide you to transfer juice easily because you need to do 301 step by step to get maximum out of it.
 
I have decided to redirect the 5 domains as is, in DNS on godaddy! Backlink another 5 domains and wait a month or 3 and then redirect them, let's see how they go!

ranking are currently between 3rd to 10+ page for various kws, main kw not ranking top 50 pages!
