Give it a try only if you have established fan site, don't buy into this freelance shit, it might not work, because so many bots nowadays, which are made to look real. Even with promoting a facebook page inside facebook you'll get so many fake accounts.

Does this still work in 2014? I'm afraid that I'll only get fake fans on FB from the freelancers. How can we be sure that they are delivering real fans?

You've only put affiliate links to getafreelancer.com - I believe you need to include both with and without to be allowed.
