Have you ever tried experimenting with different and unique ways to boost the SEO for your business? We don't often see the word experimentation with the letters, S.E.O. However, what does it hurt to experiment a little with it to see what works and what doesn't work when it comes to boosting your SEO, right? Here are three unique ways to increase your SEO with experiments.
First Experiment: Content Pruning
Surely, you have heard the old saying, "Content is king" right? Everyone who has a website and uses SEO to boost their rankings has heard this saying before. What about content pruning? What is content pruning? Content pruning is when you check your website content and see what is not needed at all. Although hearing the saying content is king makes you think that you need more, try pruning your content down a little. Why do this? It is because since Google scores every single page on your website, you want to see what content on your site is bringing your score down.
How to Prune Content: Get a List of Your URLs
Now, the secret here is to use a tool such as Screaming Frog or Google Search Console to get a list of all of your indexed URLs.
Examine Your Link Metrics
Once you have your URL list, it is recommended to download a tool called, URL Profiler. Doing this will shorten the time it takes to check each of your pages for old and outdated content that you want to cut out of your website.
Now make sure to check each of your pages for old content you want to prune. Doing this will boost your rankings in the search engines soon enough.
Second Experiment: User Experience Optimization
This experiment, user experience or UX for short should be a never ending experiment. Yes, it is that important! How do you do this? You do this by surveying your audience, of course. You can survey those visiting your website by asking a question in a poll or even having them take a survey. Ask them if they reached their goal by coming to your site and how satisfied they are when they visit your site. Many times, a website owner will already think he or she knows what their audience wants. However, how do you know unless you ask them yourself? Doing this will significantly increase your search engine ranking because once you find out what they want and how they like your website, you can use this information to make it even better.
Third Experiment: Boosting Internal Linking
Many website owners always think they should stuff their website with new and off-topic links. However, it is best to add more highly relevant links to your site.
How do you do this?
Choose the web page you want to rank higher in the search engines. Check your keyword usage. Go to Google and type in the term you want to rank higher. Once you determine if it is ranking high enough, move on to another keyword. However, if that keyword isn't ranking high enough, you have some work to do to ensure it starts ranking higher.
Although there are many more experiments you can try to rank higher in the search engines, these are the first ones you should try. Once you try these, do your research to try more to rank all the way to the top of Google, eventually.
Cheers
