3 Failures, No ROI – Need Direction

I’ve tried 3 different online business models so far and failed to make sustainable money. Sharing exact details so I can get real advice.

1) E-commerce website
Launched a general ecom site. Faced low conversions, high competition, and ad costs. Shut it down after consistent losses.

2) SEO Blog Website
Built a content site that reached around 50k organic visitors/month. Traffic was decent, but monetization was weak. Mostly ads + low-paying affiliates. Revenue never matched the effort.

3) Dating Traffic Arbitrage
Built a website and sent paid traffic to dating offers. CTR was okay but ROI was negative due to high traffic costs and poor conversions. Burned money and stopped.

So far, no real profits, but I did gain hands-on experience in:
  • SEO & keyword research
  • Content & traffic generation
  • Basic monetization
  • Paid traffic mistakes
At this point, I don’t want to jump blindly into another model and lose more money.

Looking for something realistic — either stable income first or a smarter scalable model. Open to direct and honest advice.

If yopu don't know how to make money guaranteed then, and have an existing viable business, this is just a hobby for you. Hobbies cost money. Maybe you can turn your hobby into business one day. But you shouldn't expect to be a noob, and make money, after a few crappy ideas that you tried with crappy implementation.

Go pick something and strategise over it for days/weeks. Get something that gives you a vision, and you can see that the compietion is nothing, compared to your interest and passion. Build something like that. DOn't build for money. You very rearely make it. You need buckes of regualr experiance to make it work.
 
Well most people will give you a very general, unhelpful advise. All 3 businesses you've tried do work, its just that your methods weren't great. Just stick to any one of the 3 and eventually you'll make it.
 
You've good knowledge of the basics but you don't know how to drive traffic, so you blindly relied on ads. If you can crack the formula to drive free traffic, then your failed 3 and a hundred other ventures will work. However, if you want to continue with paid traffic, you should research a little and identify profitable niches.

I don’t wanna be rude but that was the suggestion. If you wanna do ecom then become skillful and have a lot of knowledge in it. Nothing insulting about it

1. Could just be optimisation issue. Also you will have to spend money and time to build a name and organic reach. Social media.
2. Wrong niche/theme. Not every theme is worth running
3. Optimisation issue. Try other traffic providers.

Either way you are looking correct way. Cant say more in details since I do not know the specifics.
IF you make money with something but still lose, you are going correct direction and it is just optimisation issue.

50k organic visitors is no small feat. Either your monetization strategy was wrong or you were targeting the wrong audience.
If you've not shut this down already, keep working on it. Or you can start a new website, pick a new niche with better CPC. You already know how to get visitors. If you manage to get them from first world countries, 50k visitors will generate a good income with just display ad networks.

i have used google adsense and the traffic is completely from india. may be thats why the CPM was very low.

Partner with someone for monetization, i learned it in 4-5 years of hardwork. Not easy. Monetization is a completely different industry,
