I've a small question relating to domains. It's recommended you have the main keyword in your domain name, but does it matter where? For example. The main keyword is "Bath Towels" but my domain is "Bath Duvet Towels . Com". How does google look at that?

Having the main keyword in the domain name would help, yes. It doesn't hurt. However, even if you don't have it, it's not such a huge issue. You can still rank for the site and your keywords pretty well.

I have some questions regarding SEO :
1. I don't know how analyze whether my competition is hard or not- how can I estimate if it is easy or not to rank for my kw?
2. I am willing to rank by creating tier 1 backlinks with senukeXCR and by building tier 2-3 backlinks with GSA - is it good?
How many backlinks you think I will need for ranking an easy kw?
3. Should I do tier 1 manual? by buying articles and spin them with TBS or some spinner software and then create manually web 2.0 sites for tier 1?
4. Should I even do the spinning manual?
5. How many blog posts should I do per web 2.0 site?

I did say 1 question per post but seeing as your questions are short Il answer them this time.
1. There are plenty of tools, paid and free you can use. Google's tool does the job well..
2. I would recommend creating tier 1 links by hand and tier 2 links with other tools. Same goes for tier 3.
3. Yep, do it manually and for tier 1 I like my articles hand written and unique. If you do have to spin it, at least make it readable and unique.
4. Spinning it by hand would be the best, yes.
5. I usually do around 3-4 but you can do more again depending on the competition of the keyword.

You say this web 2.0 with unique content works for very easy competition keywords, but what if was trying to rank an easy keyword with 2500 searches, roughly how many web 2.0 sites should i use? Or do i just use 1 Wordpress site with 3 unique articles and images/videos each week?

It's just about trial and error. You're better of creating more than 1 web 2.0 property with articles on them instead of just one web 2.0 property.
Start with something like 5 web 2.0s with unique content on each (preferably 3-4 articles).

Of course, domain age does play a vital factor when it comes to SEO.
Whenever I start a new site, I make sure I can get an aged domain of Godaddy auctions and if I can't, I usually just create a fresh, new one.
First off, thank you for this excellent thread and for sharing your experience.
My question is regarding 301.
When you do a 301 from let's say Site A to Site B, does the link juice eventually transfer completely over to Site B (or is it always being redirected until the 301 is removed)?
If I had a Site A which I redirect over to Site B, and I decide to remove the 301 in the future, will the link juice flow back completely to Site A, or does it get stuck in site B. I've been doing a lot of reading about this and seem to be getting mixed opinions, so I wanted to hear your opinion/experience on this.
The reason I'm asking this is because I've had occasions where I redirected a site from A to B, built only backlinks to A, and then removed the redirect only to find that *both* sites continue to rank. Site B has no actual backlinks aside from the redirect coming into it (didn't get any natural links that I could see), yet it seems to still retain the link juice passed to it while the redirect was active.
Good question and I'm not sure if there is an exact answer but this is my answer anyway.
It works just like a bridge. Imagine a bridge. Now imagine 2 sites. Site A and B. Obviously your links are going to be pointed at Site A (which has been redirected to Site B). If you started building links to site A, it will flow through to site B via the bridge in between. Got me so far? As long as this redirect remains active, the link juice will simply keep flowing across the bridge into site B and you should rank well.
As soon as you remove this redirect, you're pretty much destroying and removing this bridge which is transferring over the juice. Generally speaking, your site B should drop and not rank anymore. Why? Because the links and link juice you pointed to site A are now no longer being moved over to site B because of the broken bridge (no more redirection).
So again, the link juice will be taken back to site A. The reason your site B may still be ranking is because these days Google are so slow in making these changes effective. This is what I believe anyway but again, it's not an 100% correct answer. It's just what I think and how it works.
Let me know how long has it been since your site B is still ranking. It may just be a matter of time before it's gone of the SERPs..
