Hey Leith, thanks for doing this AMA, rep added.

One question I have is your opinion on the value social signals on google's rankings and the importance of quality in regards to the accounts.

Don't feel pressured to write too much back, just a quick opinion would be great if you have time :)

Thanks!

Hello Leith,

Can you tell how you make money with emails and Clickbank? Recommended soft, tools, methods free paid that you used for same.

Hello Leith,

Would you please advice me on how to find niches and build authority sites in those niches. I have used almost all the keyword research tools and google planner, but seems that I cannot find a good niche as all of them are full of competition PR 3 and above, even for the easiest ones.

I have always ended up outsourcing everything and buying websites, but I want to do them myself and it looks as hard as I try, I end up not finding anything worthy of starting an authority site.

Anything will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Either you have to beat the competition or really dig harder to find a good niche. I use a tool right now and its made by a friend of mine and it works gems for me. I don't always find the best niches but even if I find a decent one with some competition, I beat them.

Send me a PM and I can send you a few links to the tools and other information which should be helpful for you as niche finding is a pretty complicated process.

Are you diversifying your anchors? Make sure your link profile looks natural. 99% main anchor isn't really considered natural. Target some long tails, related keywords, etc.. you get the drift. This could be where you're lacking. I don't know for sure as I do not have the URL of your site (feel free to PM me it and Il take a look at it later as soon as I find some extra time).

You may just have bad on page. Again, I can't say for sure and I can't give you other tips without finding out the current situation of the site so please send me a PM and I can take a quick look and offer my quick recommendations and advice.

Social signals and whether they play a vital role in SEO? I think yes.

There have been a few case studies done this year and they all pretty much lead to one conclusion.

Check one out here.

I take the time to create my social media accounts manually by hand or I leave the job with a well qualified and trusted V/A who I know won't mess up. I make my accounts with real legit emails, etc and again, just make it normally - don't take shortcuts or anything dodgy like that.

I then add followers, retweets, circles, etc over time. Again, I do not do these all in one day but rather.. I drip them over the month or so. Pretty much every site I make these days, I make sure to add in social media with it so my final answer, yes, they do play a very important role these days for SEO. By all means, do not rely on social media alone to get you ranked - because that's going to be a pretty exhausting process.

However, ensure your accounts are naturally made and that you do everything like any normal human being will do. Don't raise and red flags, and yes, social signals do play a role in ranking in my opinion.

How are you? :D

I'm great, thanks for asking. And yourself?

Remember guys, it doesn't just have to be related to SEO. If you have a personal question about how I ventured into the world of IM, throw it my way. Il answer pretty much anything in within reason of course.

Hello Leith,

I don't use email marketing with Clickbank anymore but it still would work very well if done right.

An email marketing list is a goldmine if you do everything correctly. As for emails, you obviously need to collect them in the first place. Whether you scrape it, or collect it naturally from a blog or site you have, it will be fine. Then obviously clean the list out (if you scraped it).

Throw up a server and start sending out. I'm not a pro when it comes to advanced email marketing but if you have a legit list you can use the free emailers out there. Find out what these people want. Teenagers aged 17-25 are not going to want to buy gardening guides or sewing guides. Try and split your list into categories somehow and then send them offers based on this.

It's all about split testing. I can't stress this more enough. Make sure you do one thing.. do it another way and then do it another way. Keep testing things out because you can never start with something perfect.

Sorry I can't go into too much depth here as Clickbank + email marketing isn't something I presently do at the moment.

Hi Leith

Thanks for sharing all the information.I have a doubt regarding web 2.0 properties. Let us say I am creating an amazon product review site and I have 20 review articles on 20 products in the same niche. Each of these articles are over 1000 words.

Now my question is if I have to make 15-20 different web 2.0 properties, what kind of articles I should post on them. Do I have to write another set of review articles and spin them and submit to all these web2.0 properties?

Thanks in advance and +rep for sharing the wiz :)

First of all, thanks for this awesome thread Leith!

Like you said before, you need to vary the source of your income, "don't put your eggs in one basket". But.. that's exactly what I'm not doing at the moment and I hate myself for it.

I want to change that as quick as possible.
My mind is totally focused on SEO at the moment and I can't really think of a good alternative.

So I come to this question:

Where do you think the "gold" is right now? What would be a good thing to learn or do to make some decent $ (besides SEO) these days.

I was thinking about Facebook fanpages or Youtube.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance.

No, you do not have to use review articles. If you're selling an Amazon product, then why not write about that particular product?

For example, let's say I have a site with 10 articles on 10 products in the same niche. Let's make it a gaming niche.

I would then make some tier 2 web 2.0 properties and the articles would be about gaming - it does not have to be review articles. It's always good to have some unique content on the web 2.0s, but spun would work well too.

I hope this gives you some sort of help. Feel free to write something relevant in the web 2.0s. Don't sell games and then start writing about pharma items in the web 2.0s. Make it somewhat relevant to the niche you are currently promoting (so in my case, it would be games).

When I say put your eggs in a different basket, it does not necessarily have to be in a completely different sector. And I completely feel your drift. I had the same issue too and sometimes have it now too. I find it hard to try something new especially when something is working so well already.

Right now, I have a lot of churn / burn sites backed up with SEO. These links vary from CPA, to affiliate sites to actual SEO sites selling services.

If a google update wipes out one of my sites, I still have 2 more to rely on. However, this isn't really putting your eggs in a different basket because you're solely relying on SEO.

So, now to answer your question.. where do I think the money is? A good place to start would definitely be Youtube in my opinion. It's a nice alternative to your usual options and there's a heap loads of things you can do with it to make money.

Or if you're extremely dedicated and find it hard to part ways with SEO, then just stick with it - but diversify your techniques. Have a bunch of CPA sites, have a dozen of amazon affiliate sites, have a dozen of some SEO consulting service sites, have a dozen of some lawyer sites you plan to sell off once they start ranking for local terms, etc..

You can easily put your eggs in different baskets WHILST doing one thing (SEO). Just need to think it through. Don't just rely one 2 sites making you $20k/month with CPA because chances are;

1. You might get them wiped off with an update.
2. Your CPA account may get closed down.

So here try to do things different. Try other forms of monetization (Affiliate Marketing, consulting, etc).

You seem to be doing good already so keep doing what you are and keep trying things differently. It's good that you're considering changing things up and I recommend you start before you regret it later on. Also try to diversify your SEO tactics. Don't use the same tactic on all your sites because if Google targets that particular technique, then ALL the sites using those tactics could be at the risk of being taken off the SERPs. Use different techniques so if that strategy fails, you can quickly come up with another one without worrying about all your sites getting flinged off the SERPs.

Very informative posts! Just been going through each one, can't give you any more rep just yet! Keep the awesome answers flowing lol!

Thanks man!

I didn't really looked at it that way before.

I've just read your churn and burn tactic in your previous thread, I have to say I really like it and I see some good potential there. I've been pretty white hat lately so I think I'll do that and mix things up a bit!

Thanks again!

Just wanted to came by and say thank you to Leith and what he is doing for the community lately, takes ages to write such detailed answers, and nothing is more valuable than time - so kudos to Leith :)

Hello Leith, thanks for contributing to the community in the best possible ways.

If you ever tried Ad$ense, I had also a topic question open but none seemed to have suggestions from their own experience, rather than some usual ones like: Very risky, 100% ban etc.

I was wondering, is there a possibility (does G allow) multiple addresses in the same bank acc for Europe... in the countries inside the European Union more specifically.

I know it could be risky, but is there a possibility for that, since I am not comfortable of letting other people have access to the money made from ads, rather I would like to keep the addresses to a trusted person's bank acc.

If that question is not worth answering, could you consider answering whether there is a Payoneer type of service for Europe, preferably Germany, Swiss etc. or something like EU general ?

Thanks a lot again, rep+ !

OP, I've already ranked this site in in USA and I would like to rank in other countries (FR) to be specific.
what would it be the best way to get it ranked? do I need new domain, content, backlinks etc?

Also, what do you think about "PPD" these days? IMO it looks like its getting saturated.

thanks for your time.
