28 Tips to Improve Google Ranking

I think that keyword density needs to be down around 1% for main keywords. Much more than that and it's viewed as keyword stuffing. I also seriously reduced keywords including those in meta and alt tags. But it seems like everyone is still just guessing - nothing is certain and what works for one site might screw-up another site.

thanks for the tips, but google has make some change to their animal (penguin and panda)
 
Personally I maintain a keyword density of around 1.5 % to 2.5% which works good for most of my sites.
 
submission of backlinks in proper manner...not just like a spamming. adopt a plan for off-page submission
 
Thanks.. I have seen so many conflicting numbers .... we have been over doing it.. time to clean that all up I see.

Best way:

1) Write legitimately useful content
2) Repeat step 1 two to three times a week
3) If: MNS repeat step 2 for 1 month; else: repeat indefinitely
4) Wait.

It's significantly less expensive and time consuming, and G wont randomly punch you in the dick every 2-3 months...

Being an article writer I can say that 1% density is enogh and natural. More than that will create stuffing problem and bad reputation. BTW, tips are good and helpful.
