2023 is SEO dead?

For me, it will never be dead. In fact, it will be more demanding than ever. Google always tries to change the algorithm but SEO is not all about being on the top ranking.

SEO is always like a oxygen to the ranking factors. so it ill last forever and it is a mandatory one.
 
You are asking a bunch of people who sell SEO services if SEO is dead. Of course, they will answer that SEO is alive and kicking.
