Depends, somedays 10+ hours while somedays are like 2 hours. I enjoy doing this.Great motivation!
Never give Up!
How much time so you spend daily to Code?
IAP : In App PurchaseWhat is IAP? Do you know people making good money with this platform?
Background: I used to work at a app startup as their product manager for 3 years. The app was making 25k+ month and it was all done by a indie dev founder. However, I wasn't happy with the job so I quit and thought about starting my career as indie app dev.
It's been a year since I started on this journey. I will give you a quick recap of what happened so far:
1. Took a course on Udemy to learn Flutter (Took me a month to learn)
2. Started building my first app: it's a b2b app, no ads completely relying on IAP subscription.
3. Took me 3 months to complete the app.
4. Registered a company in US and got duns number, and bank acc.
5. Registered a google play console account.
6. Then tried to access open testing and bam, got hit by an email saying "Your account is terminated for high risk behavior". Completely baseless, appeal doesnt work.
I took it as a lesson "Never put your eggs in 1 basket" especially Google. And thank god i didnt learn Kotlin and chose Flutter! Doesnt matter: i still have iOS, Windows and Web!
And I also found comfort in knowing that iOS generates twice as more revenue with IAP that android despite have much smaller userbase.
7. Worked on the iOS build
8. Created apple dev account, took a week to activate.
9. Published the first app on iOS , huge milestone!
10. All this while I was also working on the second app in parallel. It's b2b for a specific niche of business. It is quite complex and took me months to build.
11. Should finish and launch the second app in a month.
12. Will also launch for desktop: MS store
Tech stack: Flutter & Firebase
IDE: Cursor
I like the YT channel called Heyflutter. What are the best websites to learn more about Flutter?
Not yet.Hi. Already making money from apps?
I just took a random udemy course to get the basics and then learnt by just trying to build apps. Practical knowledge. AI is great, use cursor, build something simple, ask claude to explain the codeHI
thanks you for sharing your idea and inspiration..i am about to start learning from now on and i am fulltime free guy (work from home) so i am going to watch free udemy course with flutter and dart.
if you can simply list of things you use to learn and develop your app.will highly appreciate,so i couldnt stuck on any place.
Thanks you
Apple gives me consistent signups almost every day for all my apps, so you wont have to think much about marketing the app atleast with apple. And apple ads are quite cheap at 0.15 per install. Ofcourse all these are for my niche. And organic traffic can dwindle and fade away any day so there is always that paranoia.what are the stats for all the apps? Any downloads/installs?
yes, I have a degree in physics where I learnt basic c++ programming in a week. I needed it to run some simulationsDid you know about programming or have any coding skill before learning flutter ?
