I think he is saying he runs 5 threads. In the full version there is an option to set how many threads you want the tool to run and I think he is saying he has that set to 5. Max is 150 threads

yes 1 instance, 5 threads. after ~50hours i got ~3150 links verified.
I'm gonna do my case study for 10 emd sites soon. i will post the link here.

this seems like a great tool but i have one important question. what are the quality of the links that this tool provides? i mean, would it be safe to blast away with this tool directly to my money site? because it is dangerous if these are not decent quality links. thanks!

You can set minimum PR and outbound link limit. Also as it posts to all pages of your website you are far less likely to receive any sort of penalty (if SEs gave out penalties for links which they do not). Many people run their website through it directly.
Update V1.6.3 is out now, I strongly urge everyone to update to this asap as it has many bug fixes and improvements to it.

If you have the software it will say an update is available, the no hands seo website has a blog with the latest updates and change log and he posts updates on here but no emails as far as I'm aware.

Trial version will probably be released tomorrow as planned, it will be v1.6.3.
Latest version fixes all known bugs.
Email updates aren't an option right now but if it is something that people think could be useful I could implement something for people that wanted to be made aware of updates.

I had the free trial and ran it for a good few hours and none of my comments were confirmed, I checked a lot manually and didn't even see any track backs or comments left.
I guess I'm doing something wrong, perhaps akismet banned me

You are probably just checking the blogs that have not got a confirmed link on, also when checking pages with lots of links it is very easy to not see the link on the page. Lots of people check the pages manually and it is a total waste of time when it is all done automatically anyway.
If you check the pages with confirmed links though you will see your link is on those pages.

The whois and ping lists aren't updated by myself tbh, if I found either to be outdated I would do so but they do not change that often and are editable by the user in the "Settings" tab so if you only want to use certain ping services to speed it up you can do so easily.
Also you can set the outbound link limit in the "Settings" => "More App Settings" tab to prevent posting to blogs that have X amount of outbound links.
The default settings are fine for the majority of users but there are quite a few options that can be set to tailor the work to your needs.
