1 client per month. Earn $4,800 passive income easily. Proven scaleable ORM method.

Mostly out of curiosity, with a 'review funnel' client - do they generally stay on board after their 6 month contract is up?

What percentage will continue to stay on after the 6-month contract?

I can see this being very easy to sell and I think you could get 10-20+ new clients per month if you worked at it. But no use if they all cancel straight away. A 6 month contract certainly goes a long way in preventing that, though!

For me, 'reviews funnel' is just an easy approach I use to get my foot in the door.

Why? Because it is easy to set up, requires no effort on my end, and it can show immediate results. My clients love it!

Having said, I always bundle it with another service I offer such as web development, SEO, PPC etc. (as an upsell)

The 6 months is not meant to tie the client up and rip him off, but an opportunity for us to work together and build a stronger relationship so that I can be his 'go to' person for all marketing needs.

Sure, he might've received enough reviews/ratings to destroy competitions and no longer sees it as their primary focus, but since it's part of the bundle service I am offering, they will continue be using it.

At the end of the day, there is no solution that will keep your customer happy forever. You need to continue bring more value on the table and continue to innovate.

And another really great post from you. Thanks alot for sharing your experience and tactics.

People who are trying to tell that his methods doesn't work, are just to lazy to put the efford in it that it needs.

Solid gold, sir. Solid gold.

OriginalPoster, I realized that you're from Toronto. How many of these clients did you already steal away before I waste more money on postage :P the 7878 method only got me 1 response out of 60 last time probably because of that.

In my opinion, marketing is never a zero sum game. There is always a piece of the pie for everyone, nor I have the ability to dominate the market.

Toronto is a big city, there are many businesses that need help and are unaware of ORM. Secondly, I haven't been as active mailing letters lately because I already developed a solid clientele 2 years ago. Most of my new clients are now from referrals.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the response.

I was gonna ask another question but fuck it, let's do this.

Thank you so much OP. You've given me hope and mental strength to try this method. Thank you so much.

To be frank, I fail to see what resources you need.

1. You can simply follow my execution (from 2013). I outlined step by step on what you need (even the stationeries).
2. The entire execution require mostly 'time' and less than $100 investment (for stamps). So it is very newbie friendly - very minimum investment needed
3. Once you closed the deal, you can sign up for a reviews funnel service, or even make your own (if you are tight on budget).

Everything you need to know should be in the ORM section on BHW. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the post Op, do you think it works in a country with 5 million people (Norway). It's probably a lot easier to find prospects in the United States with all the big companies, I think.

Well here is the thing:
1. You never know if you don't try.
2. If you wait until 'others' tried and show you that it works, now you asked if it is saturated (or am i too late)

If you go with #1 and #2 above, you will never succeed and will always stuck at the same spot.

Having said, I m sure there are many successful businesses in Norway even such small population.

Remember, your goal isnt to dominate the market but just pick up a few clients using this method and expand from there.

Got a meeting with my first client on Monday.

- First person who called me asked for the price and said $395 was too much to pay for something like that per month.
- Second person said this system doesn't work and its no wonder that rude bitch has such negative reviews.

With this phone call though, she asked what I can relatively do and wanted to schedule a meeting. So now I gotta make sure I show her why $395 is a good price point.

Yup, it's always easier to 'show'.

Most of these people have limited understanding of the 'internet' in general... otherwise, they wouldn't be in such situation.

So I realized that the client that I'm meeting with has a 'web' company as per the footer link. When I go on that company's website, they offer reputation management for a $299 set up cost and then $50/month. A lot of people have a problem when I tell them $400/month and she may just end up going with that company.

web.com has horrible reviews themselves: http://www.whoishostingthis.com/hosting-reviews/web-com/

Maybe they should try saving themselves first :)

But anyways, if $400/month is too high, then offer to match their pricing.

Consider yourself an expert in ORM, and web.com is just a hosting company selling amateur templates + ORM.. its not the same.

Well we talked and she said her company did SEO for her at $300/month and she thought it was too expensive so she cancelled it. Her current rankings are on 2nd page but she said she was on first even though both local terms brought in 200+ visit per month.

I didn't go as low as they did but I said $150/month. It just seems low and degrading but it'll be an experience for the later clients.

We're having another meeting today to discuss more.

Maybe you should offer her a package for ORM and SEO during that meeting.
Also I came to realize and was told that these kinda clients are gonna be headaches down the road. I know it's hard when you start and you wanna get your first couple of clients fast but be careful. I am living it right now (started client seo seriously couple months ago) and I was told not to do that. If she thinks $300/month is too expensive for SEO then this lady clearly doesn't value the work involved. Cheap clients can be a real headaches.

Yea she's got a new business so she wants as much ROI as possible but she understands SEO takes time. I let her know positive reviews will help with SEO so I'll just offer her this for the time being to build a relationship.

Congrats on your first client (almost there, but I can see it happening!)

Went for meeting and she wants to make a new website with me but she doesn't own the domain name so I told her to talk with the web design team she's with. As for reputation management, she wanted a discount on $150 but I told her know and once again explained the value. She said she'll think about it and call me back.
