I have noticed some strange activity recently on webmaster tools for one of my websites. On one particular day (see image) I had 810 search queries for my domain name. The exact query is mywebsite.co.uk which resulted in 0% CTR. Ever since that day I randomly get 30-60 search queries on one day for the exact same thing and again a 0% CTR. I'm slightly worried as I know CTR from the SE is a ranking factor.

Here is another example from a couple days ago...

My website is only 5 months old with no brand recognition and it is not competing on page 1 for my main keywords - yet, which for me rules out any negative attack.

Does anyone know why this is? or have you experienced the same activity before? :hmmmm2:

Be good to get some thoughts on this.

Nothing to be worried about, but it's surprising you have hundreds of people(?) searching your domain if you have no brand recognition.

Maybe be a competitor negatively attacking you, but it's kind of hard to say. Also you should look at your logs and check to see if there is any unsual bot track or strange IPs that you should block
