I added the info to my .htaccess file and unfortunately the site then gave the error: Too many redirects. Have put the old file back. :( Not sure I can win this one!

That will allow me to change it but not setup a redirect. :(

My EMD MNS actually went up in the serps from #2 to #1 for its keyword. It's unique content and has a very clean backlink profile. IMHO, EMDs are still great if you're emphasising content and don't have spammy keywordcentric backlinks.
