Hello guys :)

Well, I've one question (a big one). Imagine that you have a domain related with a casino that will be built soon. It's a domain like citycasino.com (example: lasvegascasino.com). The city of the casino has not been confirmed yet but there is a lot of % that the casino will be built there (some newspappers says that it has been signed oficially, but that is not the issue).

So, if the casino is built in this city finally, how much would you pay for the domain? The best offer that I received was +-800$ but I think that the value of the domain is more than 1k -at least in my opinion-.

Thanks and un abrazo!

I'd be holding onto that domain until things looked more stable in regards to the casino being built. The value of the domain is going to differ depending on the city that the casino is built in, among other things. Many domainers make their money by contacting the end user directly (ie, the casino), but not certain how that would work in terms of your niche.

Keep it..

1. You can sell it to the end user, in this case the casino if it really gets build.
2. Depending on the city ofcourse, but there might be search traffic for those keywords already, so maybe you can build a site and monetize it untill the casino actually gets build..

hold the domain, if the casino goes through with their plans the domain could be worth 10s of thousands if not more.

$800 is a great offer for a small/new city casino dot com. If you can sell it for more, then well and good. Else don't throw away this offer.

Well, the thing is that if the casino finally it's built we are speaking about the biggest casino of Europa (for sure you guys know what casino I'm speaking about).

I like to hear different opinions, thanks for all the answers and I hope to see more :)

It honestly depends on the city and how many casinos open there.

The price of the domain is what a customer is willing to pay for it. - Adam Dicker

Build out a small site on it and push it to PR3/4 in time for the next update, that will add a zero to the value ^^

But the effort that it will take to add a zero isn't going to be just a tad bit more but at least 10+ times more as well.

Thanks for all the opinions! I've just seen that there is a mistake in my post. The domain is casinocity.com but I can't edit the thread.

Finally I did not sell the domain, at this moment I am awaiting offers as recently the owner of the casino confirmed the city of the construction (the same as my domain :) -casinocity.com-).

Did I do right? What can I do right now? Wait for another offer, build a site related with the casino... I have no idea!

Just make sure they buy your domain name instead of citycasino.com. In all honesty, they don't need your domain name and if they start building a website with a different domain you're never going to be able to sell it to them for very much.

You need to contact the guy who's running the operation before it's too late.

If available, why not buy citycasino.tld too, then put out feelers on this forum, and others like dnforum and digitalpoint and see what the market says. Perhaps put a link to the article? Then you can sell both domains.

That is my fear! I dont want to see that the company is using another page instead of my domain. Do you think that should I contact the company owner of the casino? Could not they sue against me for trying to make money from their project? I have no idea about this last question, but as I am not using any trademark I think that they can not do anything.

Thank you both guys :)

Citycasino.com is already bought, I have checked it a few seconds ago. Also it is for sale, so I am not the only one trying to make some $$ from this casino.

How can I try to sell the domain here? I have been searching the section but as I have not find any domain sale I have no idea about where can I sell it.

I have to disagree, PR doesn't give a rat value to a domain. Why people still think PR is a measuring tool for ranks, for value, for power. PR has become nothing more than just a rate index, for the love of God the PR era is over move along.

Now to OP, as you said you casinonamespain.com does they own casinoname.com? I ask because if the parent owns casinoname.com casinospain.com can blow up to be just a registration value or maybe something more just for traffic/cpc.

Personally I will take the $800 offer and go buy 2, 3 more domains in the auction and sell more so you can buy more.

Good luck.

Too late for that, I declined the offer a few weeks ago.
