Great thread. I've read most of it as I have some sites still dealing with the Panda/Penguin updates. Just a few points that I can share from my experiences: -Even before the updates, I've had sub pages rank higher than my homepage, even though I always did link building to my home page...

I tried backlinkwatch.com, but not sure how updated their info is. When I checked some of the URLs in their report, many of them went to empty sites, or the link that they said was there was not.

It seems with all the different link counting tools out there, I always get a different number when I try to find out the total number of links pointing to my site, or to a competitors site. What tool do you guys use to find out the most accurate number of links pointing to a site?
