Has anyone managed to get links on these sites "not so naturally..." there are a couple of articles on these sites linking to a couple competitors, trying to figure out a way to get my site listed. Would reaching out to editors work?

To be specfic, I run a directory/listing sites. Each page provides info on an event, start times, price etc. Am I actually harming my own rankings by linking to the event owners website and facebook, presumably im basically giving them free backlinks... Is this when its best to make these...

Do you think going blue is worth the cost in terms of brand trust? In some niches where you are trying to be an authority in that niche, getting a blue tick over your competitors might be benificial?

Hi, sorry for noob question. How should you build backlinks for a blog, i.e Should you be building links to the blog URL or individual posts? Or have 4-5 "authority" blog posts, and build backlinks to these rather than "filler" posts?
