Do Reels Still Drive the Majority of Growth on Instagram?

Reels still work but carousels are catching up. Mix both. Hook first 3 seconds. Value over viral. Consistency beats one lucky reel.

Yes reels are the main driver of growth because they enable you to get discovered easier. You should mix up normal posting and stories with the reels in order to get the maximum effect/reach that you can.
 
Reels are the best generating social profile feature with Instagram profile if secure with quality content upload,most users from same locations got expose with quality content reel upload with caption to secure growth page.
 
Reels are still the main growth driver on instagram but results depend more on hook watch time and shares than just posting so inconsistency usually comes from how people engage with the content rather than the format itself
 
In some cases; there are agencies that use CRMs to help schedule posting so that you can have an account continue to post that way you have a higher chance of getting on the explore page.
 
quick question, anyone else notice reels reach dropping lately? been trying to grow my account but it\'s like hitting a wall. wondering if it\'s just me or a wider trend.
 
Yep for most accounts growth on Instagram happens because of their Reels.
 
Reels still bring the most new people. Stories and carousels are better for keeping followers active, but Reels are still the main thing for growth.

Reels are still the main growth driver from what I’m seeing, but they’re not as easy as before. A basic Reel with a weak hook doesn’t go anywhere now.
What seems to matter most is retention. If people watch the first few seconds and stay until the end, the Reel still has a good chance to move. But random posting or copying trends without fitting your niche usually gives inconsistent results.
Other formats can help too, especially carousels for saves and stories for warming up your existing audience, but for reaching new people, Reels still seem to be the strongest format.

Yes reels would be first carousels would be second but saves and shares are equally if not more important. The algorithm treats your content as more valuable if the users interact with it more than similar posts
 
From what I’ve seen, Reels are still useful for getting reach, but I wouldn’t rely on them alone. Carousels seem valuable for saves and shares, so testing both formats and tracking which one actually converts into followers makes more sense than chasing views only...
 
They did at the time of this OP, but I'm seeing a change in the dynamic of reels. I think this may be a macro issue tbh. There's far fewer outlier reels. When I search the explore page, most of the super big reels tend to be 3-4 months only.

I would monitor the number of people that follow my profile from my reel. A huge following may look gud but it wont make your account grow.
 
Reels are still one of the best ways to reach new audiences. I’d use Reels for discovery and test different hooks and topics. Track shares, watch time and profile visits to see what actually brings growth in your niche.
 
Reels still account for roughly 70% of my weekly follower gain according to Instagram Insights (see the "Reels" tab), but accounts focused on high-ticket B2B services often grow faster via carousel posts that link to case studies.
 
I think Reels are still good for reaching new people, but Stories and carousel posts can also help. I would try different formats and see what works best for mine.
 
Reach mb, yes, growth - think not so much. People look at reels in the feed and don't open the profile. Subscriptions are usually those where there's a lively discussion in the comments—people click through to see who the author is.
