I have been focusing on Reels but results are inconsistent. Are they still the main growth driver or are other formats catching up?

Reels still drive strong reach, especially for discovery, but they’re not the only growth lever now. Carousels, saves, and shares matter more than before. A mix of Reels for reach and value posts for engagement works best.

I think Reels are still the best for reaching new people, but you can't just post anything now. competition is high, so you need a good hook in first 2 sec to keep them watching, otherwise algorithm just ignores your videos.

Reels still drive most growth. Stories and carousels help but they dont reach new people like reels do. Inconsistency is normal just keep testing hooks.

In my opinion, reels are still the foundation for growth, but you should combine them with other factors to achieve stronger channel growth.

I think reels still main for reach. But results are not consistent now. Sometimes normal posts or carousels also do well. Better to mix formats and see what works for your account.

Well, reels are still very good growth drivers. You need to experiment with the type of content that you use on reels.

yes Reels still drive most of Instagram growth in 2026
they get way more reach than posts and are main discovery tool, especially for reaching new people
but now it’s not only Reels, carousels also growing for saves and engagement, so best strategy is mix, not only Reels.

Reels still seem to drive the most reach on Instagram, but consistency and content quality matter a lot. I have also seen carousels and regular post perform well when engagement is strong. Feels like mixing formats work better instead of relying only on Reels.

Honestly, Reels are still the biggest reach machine if you want to go viral, but you need to stop relying on them for everything and start dropping some carousel posts to actually build a connection

Persistence is key, but to break through in the highly competitive Reels market, you need a strategic mindset: prioritize quality over quantity and especially invest in the "golden 2 seconds" to keep viewers engaged. A sharp "hook" at the beginning of the video is key to convincing the algorithm; only by passing this filter will your content have a chance to go viral and create explosive growth for the entire channel.

As a newbie, I still see Reels drive most reach on Instagram, but consistency matters. Carousels and posts also help build engagement. The algorithm keeps changing, so mixing formats works better than relying only on Reels for steady growth overall.

Reels still matter, but they are not the whole game now. They help with discovery, while carousels and posts often do better for saves, shares, and follower conversion. Best move is to use Reels to bring people in and other formats to build around the same topic.

Reels are still the primary growth driver for reach, especially for getting in front of non-followers. However, their volatility is real - performance can swing a lot depending on early retention and engagement signals.

Other formats like carousels are definitely catching up in terms of consistency, especially for saves, shares, and building loyal audiences. They may not give explosive reach, but they stabilize growth and improve overall account performance.

The best strategy right now is hybrid: use Reels for discovery and carousels/posts to capture and retain attention. That combination tends to smooth out the instability you're seeing.

Reels still seem to help with reach, but results can be inconsistent. Mixing in carousels and regular posts on Instagram can sometimes bring more stable engagement. A mix of formats seems to work better now.

I think short videos (Reels) are still the foundation for growth and the best way to reach users. The competition is fierce right now, so you need to capture viewers' attention in the first 3 seconds to keep them engaged.

Reels are still a huge play for reach, but honestly, inconsistent results might mean it's time to diversify. We're seeing consistent growth come from a solid mix of reels, engaging carousels
